-Ratings Breakdown: Led by an approximate 45-minute prime-time football overrun, CBS was the most-watched network on Sunday with 2.29 million more viewers than second-place NBC. Football-ignited NBC was first among adults 18-49, 15 percent above CBS. Third overall was ABC, followed by Fox and lowly the CW, which took back the evening from Media Rights Capital with its combination of a repeat of Jericho (Viewers: #5, 1.25 million; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 1 at 7 p.m.) and Sunday Movie, Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (Viewers: #5, 1.25 million; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 1 from 8-10 p.m.). While the CW may not sound like much, it did build from the week-ago encore combination of In Harm’s Way, Valentine and Easy Money by double-digit percentages.
Since football bled into CBS’ Sunday line-up, all overnight results are approximate. And they are as follows:
CBS/Sunday 7:00 p.m. Football Overrun – Viewers: 24.35 million (#1), A18-49: 7.4 rating/19 share (#1) 7:30 p.m. Football Overrun/60 Minutes – Viewers: 19.38 million (#1), A18-49: 5.2/13 (#1) 8:00 p.m. 60 Minutes – Viewers: 17.90 million (#1), A18-49: 4.5/11 (#1) 8:30 p.m. 60 Minutes/The Amazing Race – Viewers: 13.30 million (#2), A18-49: 3.7/ 8 (#3) 9:00 p.m. The Amazing Race – Viewers: 12.00 million (#3), A18-49: 3.4/ 7 (#3) 9:30 p.m. The Amazing Race/Cold Case – Viewers: 11.28 million (#3), A18-49: 2.9/ 6 (#3) 10:00 p.m. Cold Case – Viewers: 11.46 million (#2), A18-49: 3.0/ 7 (#3) 10:30 p.m. Cold Case/The Unit – Viewers: 9.93 million (#2), A18-49: 2.7/ 7 (#3)
Chicago at Minnesota on NBC’s Sunday Night Football was on the map, meanwhile, with an estimated 14.17 million viewers and a 5.3/12 among adults 18-49 for the prime-time portion from 8:30-11 p.m. Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game Football Night in America at a distant (and third-place) 6.25 million viewers and a 2.2/ 6 in the demo from 7-8 p.m. (#3), and a second-place 10.71 million viewers and a 3.9/ 9 among adults 18-49 in the 8 p.m. half hour.
ABC had what you could refer to as a typical Sunday with its combination of America’s Funniest Home Videos (Viewers: #2, 8.92 million; A18-49: #2, 2.3/ 6), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Viewers: #3, 11.24 million; A18-49: #3, 3.6/ 8), Desperate Housewives (Viewers: #1, 15.63 million; A18-49: #2, 5.6/12) and Brothers & Sisters (Viewers: #3, 10.19 million; A18-49: #2, 3.5/ 8). And Fox capped off Sunday with two repeat episodes of the departing King of the Hill (Viewers: #5, avg. 1.25 million; A18-49: #5, avg. 1.3/ 3 from 7-8 p.m.), mainstay The Simpsons (Viewers: #4, 8.00 million; A18-49: #3, 3.5/ 8), the regularly scheduled telecast of King of the Hill (Viewers: #4, 6.29 million; A18-49: #4, 2.8/ 6), a repeat of Family Guy (Viewers: #4, 6.94 million; A18-49: #4, 3.2/ 7) and an original installment of American Dad (Viewers: #4, 5.55 million; A18-49: #4, 2.5/ 5).
Mushu, tvfan300, spotupj and yankeesrj12, Douglas and I are playing the NFL Call the play game if you ant to join us. We are currently in Group 8, but if we get at least 4 of us, we'll move over to our private group.
According to wikipedia (yes wikipedia) the 9th episode will air on 12/11/08. If there is 9 more episodes, then that would end it on February 26, 2009. *Two breaks include Christmas and New Years Day. So right at the end of February Sweeps, Eleventh Hour would end, and then Flashpoint can start airing in March and possbily air repeat free (or close to) through the summer for a strong Thursday lineup.
VOTE IN THE PIF NETWORK GAME: http://pifeedback.com/eve/foru...93910104/m/854104282 TONIGHT: ---> NEW <--- EPISODES OF GREATEST DAY, AND MEGA DODGEBALL. PLUS BACK FOR GOOD, GETTING SOME, THE ONLINE LIFE, AND YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG MAN! ALSO, ROSIE'S ROUNDTABLE (WITH BETTY WHITE!) AND GIRALDO LIVE!
Now that they are posted, CBS really needs to improve their Sunday night lineup. 60 Minutes is doing great. However, through the night, the network just loses ratings and demos.
AFV and EM:HE posted some good numbers. Both were up from their previous airing. DH viewership was on par but its demos are at a season low. B&S was on par.
FOX's animated comedies posted lower than normal ratings for originals. Airing a repeat of FG didn't help out AD's ratings.
CW with Jericho and movies were slightly better than MRC block, but still way too low to be competitive.
Sorry TV. I'm watching the Grinch right now and will be headin to do homework later on.
