-Adults 18-49:
NBC: 2.3 rating/7 share, Fox: 1.7/ 5, CBS: 1.4/ 4, ABC: 1.1/ 3. CW: 0.4/ 1

----------

-Countdown to the Fall Season:
25 days

----------

-Yesterday’s Winners:
America’s Got Talent (NBC)

-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats):
Greatest American Dog (CBS) and ongoing coverage of the Democratic Convention

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
NBC’s winning streak continued care of another expanded edition of the just renewed America’s Got Talent, which scored a healthy 10.13 million viewers and a 2.7 rating/8 share among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

America’s Got Talent (NBC)
8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.32 million (#1), A18-49: 2.3/ 8 (#1)
8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 10.23 million (#1), A18-49: 2.6/ 8 (#1)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 10.32 million (#1), A18-49: 2.8/ 8 (#1)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 10.65 million (#1), A18-49: 3.0/ 8 (#1)

All I can say is, go Queen Emily!, who literally “tore the house down” last night.

Second in the 8 p.m. hour behind the first half of America’s Got Talent was CBS’ inane Greatest American Dog at 5.60 million viewers and a 1.7/ 5 among adults 18-49. What America’s Greatest Dog put our four-legged friends through last night was just plain cruel. Please, CBS…swing the axe on this show! Next was a repeat of Fox’s Bones (Viewers: 5.52 million; A18-49: 1.6/ 5), followed by a repeat of ABC’s Wife Swap (Viewers: 3.46 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 4), and a repeat of America’s Next Top Model on the CW (Viewers: 1.13 million; A18-49: 0.5/ 2). Don’t you just hate the word “repeat”?

Tied for second in the 9 p.m. hour behind the second half of America’s Got Talent were repeats of CBS’ Criminal Minds (Viewers: #2, 6.68 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.8/ 5) and Fox’s Bones (Viewers: #3, 5.98 million; A18-49: #3, 1.8/ 5), which will anchor Wednesday this fall. Capping off the hour were repeats of ABC’s Supernanny (Viewers: 3.82 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3) and the CW’s Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (Viewers: 863,000; A18-49: 0.4/ 1). Don’t forget that ABC’s Wife Swap and Suppernanny will move into the Friday 8-10 p.m. block next season.

Night three of the Democratic Convention fared as follows at 10 p.m.:

NBC – Viewers: 5.63 million, A18-49: 1.6/ 5
CBS – Viewers: 3.59 million, A18-49: 0.9/ 3
ABC – Viewers: 3.31 million, A18-49: 0.9/ 3

Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live event are always approximate.

I've not seen America's Greatest Dog, but what could possibly be done to these dogs that gets Marc so riled up, but not PETA?

They had these poor dogs scared to death jumping from a high platform while their owners were cheering them on. Plus, its just pathethic watching them be "expelled" at the end of the show.

Regarding the convention. What I don't get is why the Big Speeches from people like Hillary weren't scheduled earlier in the night during the prime time. Would the networks really care if their repeats were pre-empted the The DNC instead of saving the coverage for 10pm?

Also CBS has announced its SURVIVOR castaways.

I ask you why the heck is 1/3 of the cast from CALIFORNIA...cannot they make a little effort and search the other 49 states for some cataways?!

Possibly because it was in Denver and would have been hard for people to get there at 6 or 7 pm I guess in order for it to air earlier on the east coast

I also think CBS is gonna renew GAD for a second season - after moving to Wednesday night, the show has been incredibly stable, getting 5-6 million every single episode so far. I don't watch the show, and I could care less about it, but it wouldn't be a shock if they did renew it.

Another great speech by a Clinton last night-LOL. I was actually so involved with his speech I forgot all about Biden's speech-LOL.

I agree with Marc. Actually the FCC should ban GAD beacuse of animal cruelty. I mean watching dogs get tortured by their stupid owners is 100000 more frightening than seeing for half a second a Janaet Jakson's boob

Marc, why are you so insistent that these dogs somehow have their feelings hurt by being voted off a gameshow?

10-11pm IS primetime on the East Coast. If they scheduled it for 8pm East Coast, it would be on at 5pm on the West Coast. Even as it is, the 10pm start for the East Coast means that the 'big speech' is on before prime time (7pm) on the West Coast.

They end up having to recruit some people, and it makes sense that they'd look in California because that's where they're based.

Marc was saying how pathetic is to expel a dog, not that the dogs got their feeling hurt, but anyway dogs are much more intelligent than their owners so they must be happy leaving the show

Rumor has it that GAD is being renewed for a 2nd season on condition of a host change.

CBS is wanting Michael Vick to run the show. Big Grin

It pains me deeply to know that idiots like these are allowed to own dogs.. >.< I take care of mine with great love, so it just pisses me off to hear about stuff like this. Geez. Cancel that show already! For the sake of those poor dogs.
