Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Also, since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 9 percent in early 2006-07 to approximately 20 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

-Ratings Breakdown: ABC, as expected, opened the week on a winning note care of blockbuster Dancing With the Stars, with a first-place finish in total viewers and adults 18-49. But its advantage over second-place CBS in the demo was just one-tenth of a rating point (or two percent). Third overall was NBC, followed by Fox and the CW.
Dancing With the Stars opened the evening for ABC with a whopping 21.80 million viewers and a 5.2 rating/13 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9:30 p.m. That led into ongoing success Samantha Who? (which is benefiting, no doubt, by the lead-in support), with 14.34 million viewers (#1) and a second-place 4.4/10 among adults 18-49 at 9:30 p.m. Retention for Samantha Who? out of the last half-hour of Dancing With the Stars (Viewers: 22.49 million; A18-49: 5.6/13 at 9 p.m.) was 64 percent in viewers and 79 percent in the demo. Capping off the evening for ABC was the Women Tell All edition of The Bachelor, with a second-place finish in both total viewers (9.17 million) and adults 18-49 (3.4/ 9) at 10 p.m. Doesn’t this franchise need to take a rest already?
CBS scored a very typical Monday as a result of How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #2, 8.58 million; A18-49: #2, 3.3/ 9), The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: #2, 9.39 million; A18-49: #2, 3.8/ 9), Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #2, 14.17 million; A18-49: #2t, 5.0/11), Rules of Engagement (Viewers: #2, 11.53 million; A18-49: #3, 4.2/10) and CSI: Miami (Viewers: #1, 15.37 million; A18-49: #1, 4.6/12). Worth positively noting is the ongoing growth for The Big Bang Theory out of both How I Met Your Mother and year-ago occupant The Class (Viewers: 8.44 million; A18-49: 3.0/ 8). As for my recent criticism of Two and a Half Men, I take it back…“Charlie Waffles” was a hoot last night!
NBC also had nothing unusual to report care of Chuck (Viewers: #3, 7.56 million; A18-49: #4, 3.0/ 7), which does not compare to year-ago occupant Deal or No Deal, Heroes (Viewers: #3, 11.07 million; A18-49: #1, 5.1/12), and Journeyman (Viewers: #3, 6.22 million; A18-49: #3, 2.5/ 6), which is waiting for the axe to swing. One year earlier, however, Heroes was considerably stronger with 15.08 million viewers and a 6.5/16 in the demo on Nov. 15, 2006.
Fox’s recently introduced K-Ville (Viewers: #4, 4.72 million; A18-49: #4, 1.6/ 4) remains its weak Monday link, with a loss of 2.47 million viewers and 48 percent among adults 18-49 from lead-in Prison Break (Viewers: #4, 7.19 million; A18-49: #3, 3.1/ 8), and erosion of 4.45 million viewers and 52 percent in the demo from a repeat of House on the year-ago evening (Viewers: 9.17 million; A18-49: 3.3/ 8 on Nov. 13, 2006). And the CW’s combination of Everybody Hates Chris (Viewers: 2.72 million; A18-49: 1.1/ 3), Aliens in America (Viewers: 2.24 million; A18-49: 0.9/ 2), Girlfriends (Viewers: 2.20 million; A18-49: 1.0/ 2) and The Game (Viewers: 2.55 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3) remains a thorn in the struggling network’s side.
Fox: After a few weeks of decent retention, K-Ville fell off the cliff last night. I'd say the end could be near if it weren't for the strike. Prison Break remains stable.
NBC: Chuck is modest. Heroes is down. Journeyman is another flop.
ABC: Pretty solid all around. The Bachelor could do better, but it'll pull those numbers regardless of the lead in.
CBS: Big Bang and 2.5 Men remain the standouts with modest retention for Rules out of 2.5 Men. HIMYM remains an overrated lead in for the night. CBS could do much better.
CW: The fact that Girlfriends actually lost viewers out of Aliens remains concerning. Chris is the most likely out of all of them to show gains once the other lineups go to repeats.

I really like BBT. I think the show has found it's groove. The writing is so witty and fast paced. I think this show will continue to grow as soon as DWTS is finished. I hope the strike will not hurt it's momentum.

Sure, they will both pull 10 million viewers in reruns.
