What does it matter? They're not out anything by airing it. I'm sure with product placement and advertising alone ABC is still making money on it. Remember, Jim is still sticking around. Its summer. Just air the show and then forget about it. If they move it to a different night like Friday, okay, but air all the eps. They just as well bring back the other programs in need of burnoff too like Cavemen for some Friday airings later on too.

I see Worst Week tanking pretty quickly, although I don't already watch the show after 2.5 Men anyway (the only time recently being when Old Christine was there).

"Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."

We're about 39 weeks or so out from the beginning of last season, so unless a show had special airings it cannot be more than into its 2nd round of repeats. And for a new or marginal show, I don't think multiple repeats are a bad thing. If it's just the hard core that is watching, they're obviously not getting tired, and if the mix includes some either occasional viewers or new viewers, sounds good to me.

By the way, the same reasoning applies to the argument that DOND is airing too much. The core that watches these supposedly excessive airings apparently doesn't mind. If the summer mix includes some people who watched different shows during the more populated season, so much the better. The other layers of viewers couldn't, and shouldn't, care less.

And while I think L&O SVU's 07-08 eps were burned out to the point where the viewer starts having negative reactions, I think the mothership with its new characters, and CI, with a shifting, hard to define base audience, should keep going.

And what about situations like CRIMINAL MINDS, where some early season viewers were checking out other shows in the period like BW, and then in the spring, where it loses viewers to IDOL. Two rounds of reruns isn't too much.

If the rerun numbers are down from the past it has to be kept in mind that the originals are down, as well, for shows like CSI, CSI MIAMI, COLD CASE, etc.

Good. So when Worst Week tanks next year, CBS can put BBT after 2.5 Men and put Rules of Engagement at 8pm. I would like that A LOT better.

As much as I like the gangs with Ted, I don't think HIMYM reaches the level of King of Queens, Everybody loves Raymond, and other classic Monday night CBS comedies in terms of rating to warrant a farewell 9:30 run during midseason next year after 2.5 Men. As much as I don't like the idea that HIMYM will end next season, CBS may want to put their money on a newer show. (It is weird that the youngest show on the old people network don't get a special treatment.) If Worst Week tanks, CBS is most likely to just put RoE or shuffle Project Gary to the slot to give it a chance (the show itself has to outlive Worst Week though).

If a show only had 12 or 13 episodes due to the strike, then it could be well into it's 3rd or 4th repeat. Especially Big Bang Theory which was airing Thursdays as well. And it may be good for a new show, but nobody is going to want to watch the same episode 5 times, or, by the end of this summer, 8 times.

That's why I stick with my theory of airing old repeats, like CBS is doing with How I Met Your Mother (which is airing episodes from 2005). Why not air episodes from 2003 for Two and a Half Men? I'm sure many people haven't seen it or have forgotten of it.

If you're a fan of ROE you better hope one of the two new sitcoms fail, and ROE gets that spot, because the other four returning CBS sitcoms all have full season orders. I did hear, that CBS said they would consider opening a fourth hour of sitcoms to accomodate ROE if the other six are all doing well, but that would probably not come until later in the season if a new drama fails. In that scenario we might see a ROE hour all to itself.

Futon Critic has a complete list of aired episodes for each recent show if you actually want to know.

No episode of BBT has been shown more than 3 times and some haven't even been shown twice. No realistic broadcast scenario will get the show to 5 (much less 8) airings by the end of the summer.

2&1/2Men is in syndication, so people can watch old years of that show several times per day already. Showing a prior year is a good idea for HIMYM, TNAoOC, and RoE, though. Even with them, though, I think the audience will sense 'oldness' from earlier seasons and finds the shows less appealing in that form. This may be why BBT finally outrated HIMYM in viewers (50,000) this Monday night even though HIMYM still did ~15% better in the demo.

ABC is not better off by pulling The Mole. Nothing ticks off viewers more than investing in a Reality show only not to see the ending or have to watch it online - which many don't have the computer power for anyhow.

(Although, I'd move the show to Friday or Saturday - since they don't have any ratings those nights anyhow.)

It'll be interesting to see how low the recap show that's airing before the original scores next week. (Another indication though that they aren't going to yank this anytime soon... Yeah!!!)

It's obvious you've never seen The Mole as it takes more brainpower than the average Reality show. (And Kidnapped, they eventually did run the entire show - late night and then on cable, but it did run.)
