Bachelorette looks to be doing very nicely for ABC this summer -- the Alphabet would be smart to make this a summer staple.
AG -- NBC has said it plans to bring this show back next summer, but I have to wonder if it will be under the caveat that Hogan get the boot, given his legal and personal issues. The current 60-minute format also doesn't work -- either reduce the number of events (showing "highlights" of certain events isn't fair to viewers) or make it a 90-minute show.
Mole -- I give ABC credit for apparently sticking with the show until the end, but the Alphabet has to move it from its 10p "death slot". Perhaps moving it to 9p after HSM, with Wanna Bet going to the 10p slot?
Nashville Star -- the demos aren't that great for this show. I've seen one episode and, to me, it comes off as just another singing talent show. It has the potential to be unique, but it's not there.
It looks like we have seen the last of Rules of Engagement for a little while. According to the schedule CBS is giving the 9:30 time slot to The Big Bang Theory the next two weeks, and Old Christine returns on Monday, July 21.

The reason they are just showing highlights of certain events is because the original plan was to have 90 minute shows but then when the ratings were so bad they trimmed the shows to 60 minutes. But since the shows had already been filmed to fit 90 minutes some of the events had to be cut and just highlights shown. If they bring this show back (which I give like a 40% chance at this point) then I believe they will do so with 60 minute shows, but with all events being shown.
Thats a good idea. I think RULES... has only produced about 20 episodes over the two seasons, so we are hitting 5 & 6th airings of some of thes episodes.
BBT needs a small rest too after its 9:30 run. I think they only had about 16 episodes produced, and we've seen those early shows about 4 or 5 times already.

BBT & RoE have been often pulled for other comedies. They haven't even shown all of their episodes in repeats yet. Only a few episodes have aired 3 times and none has aired more than 3 times. Yes, the shows need a rest, but CBS better keep something funny in the timeslots rather than resprting to CSI versions.
ABC 2.2/7(Demo) - 6,242,000 milion viewers CBS 2.2/7(Demo) - 7,039,000 million viewers
I know reality TV is mostly cheap to produce, but I still bet that ABC would DIE for a few regular series that can produce REPEAT numbers like CBS does on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays .......

ABC did well with the Bachlorette. Why is the Mole still on? Are they trying to see if it can dip below 4 million?
I don't see NBC continuing with American Gladiators. The ratings have taken a huge dive since its beginning numbers. However, I could see a smaller network like MNTV picking it up and it doing very well with the wrestling audience MNTV is going to acquire. Nashville Star grew in each half hour which is very interesting.
Resting Rules is not the best idea. It is a mid-season filler already with no return date set and if you let the audience forget about it too long, there's no guarentee that the audience will return. That being said, I could see CBS sacrificing the good ratings they are sure to get with Rules for the awful Worst Week which will struggle even with its lead in as network pride gets in the way.

I agree with that Worst Week stuff. CBS is in love with this show ever since it bought a piece of it from Universal NBC. It does not fit with Two and Half Men. After a couple of weeks of sampling just watch it start to lose lots of the Two and a Half Men audience. The show is not a good fit after Two and a Half Men.

Well I agree that ratings for Rules would likely be better than what they'll get for Worst Week. That said, if they put something actually worth watching in the hour period it would help. People were starting to catch onto Christine towards the end of its run this year. CBS should really put some real emphasis into the new Wednesday comedy hour. Both seem to be compatible and both could provide one of the most entertaining hour of comedies on TV.

In the demo, I don't think so.
I agree. Demo-wise they're better off with the reality shows. CBS shows are starting to show their "age" when it comes to repeats. The Tue. Wed. Fri. Sun. and even sometimes CSI fail to hit a 2.0 in the demo in repeats here lately. ABC, on the other hand, is having its best summer in a while. The Bachelorette is doing fine. Wipeout is a hit. Japanese Gameshow will likely feed off of it. Primetime is a valuable summer player and the NBA had a good summer. Plus they have yet to debut HSM: Get in the Picture which I think will do very well for them.
