Sad (but not surprised) to see the Dollhouse ratings. I'll enjoy the 13 episodes this season and do not expect any more than that. Frankly, I'm surprised that it got renewed--but if the alternative was more shows like Brothers, I can see why Fox kept Dollhouse around.

In addition, FOX does have Kitchen Nightmares in reserve, along with Sons of Tucson. They could try doubling up Sons of Tucson and Kitchen Nightmares if FOX was looking for options. There's also Bones/House repeats.

I think that CW should move Smallville to Wednesday now that a timeslot has opened up for it. Too bads that no one watched The Beautiful Life as it was bettere than the other shows airing on CW.

Too bad no one is watching Dollhouse as it is an excellent show. It never should have been renewed, though.

I watched most of Flash Forward last night. Better than I expected.

Medium now has a new network to be middling and old skewing on...but middling and old skewing is probably good enough for Friday night.

NBC: I think next year that 10pm hour gets returned to the affiliates.

Bummer on NUMB3RS. I hope it isn't canceled soon Frowner

And what about Southland? That was supposed to premiere this week right? And they bumped it 4 weeks until late October.

Where are the CW getting those numbers?

I just looked up the Smackdown's numbers here at pifeedback.com and they are nothing like those figures.

Whose numbers are wrong? Why is there such a big difference?

Or did I do something wrong.
This is what I thought Marc said for 9.26/08 for Friday Night Smackdown on the CW

Smallville and Supernatural Wednesdays at 8PM and 9PM? Then what happens to ANTM? I say this because I don't think The CW would ever pair up SV and ANTM.

Brothers did better than Dollhouse in the ratings? Eeker They spent a lot of money on advertisements and pretty much didn't even care about Brothers. That's not a good sign. Both came in way too low. I don't think FOX will hang on to this lineup past October. That being said, Brothers held it's low viewership through the hour, meaning whatever was shown people cared to watch both episodes. So right now, that's a positive.

L&O did decently but it's demos are really low. Dateline is compatible, but as I mentioned before, can't be overused. It falls when it is overexposed. Leno did decently, considering everything.

Smallville really took a hit moving to Fridays. The ANTM repeats were very low.

CBS did decently but all three came in lower than I expected. Numbers especially going under a 2.0 in the demo is concerning.

ABC was up with 20/20. Was there a special or something on that show?

What would FOX move to Fridays? I doubt they would move Fringe, but you never know. I also doubt they will premiere some of their midseason options.

FOX is likely to bring back their movie night, which is what they've done in the past to provide a quick fix on troubled nights.

I found 'Brothers' rather funny, and would watch it again. 'Dollhouse' was brilliant, and I liked the small changes made to the series...the introduction of opening credits, better use of humour, great action sequences.

I'm wondering if ABC might be tempted to hold off 'Supernanny' and 'Ugly Betty' for now, and use Fridays as encore slots for 'Flash Forward' and the comedies. Those numbers last night were pretty strong, and gave '20/20' a great lead-in.

I had expected 'Dateline' to be higher as last nights edition had an exclusive of the recorded conversations of Mr. Michael Jackson with a Rabbi friend of his.

CBS was wise to pick up 'Medium', and I agree with others that it was a perfect bridge out of 'Ghost Whisperer'.

Finally, I am perplexed at The CW's insistence on wasting 'Smallville's' ratings power on Friday nights, and then squandering its 2.5 million viewer, 1.0 A18-49 lead-in on an encore of 'America's Next Top Model' which had trouble retaining even half its lead-in (could there be a less compatable flow?). If The CW really wanted to maximize its Monday to Thursday numbers, then a move of 'Smallville' to Tuesday and the transfer of 'Melrose Place' to Wednesday would accomplish this and Fridays could be left for 'Vampire Diaries'/'ANTM' encores or perhaps airing the remaining episodes of 'The Beautiful Life: TBL'.

With all the new content airing last night, I also wonder how MyNetworkTV's 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' was impacted. Last Friday it garnered a 1.2 A18-49 and 3.4 million viewers.

I just hope that the networks arent ready to put up a white flag on fridays just yet. The ratings are low cause the shows suck. Why is it that the cable networks are doing fine on fri. but the networks aren't. they need to start sched. better. I personally wish abc had a chance to get Vampire Diaries and place it on fri at 8, followed by ugly betty. The networks have to start catering to the type of audience that is home that night. We all know that fri. are dying because the networks are trying to attract the audience that is never home on a fri night. I have said this before, and I will say this again, they need to start catering to tweens and teenagers on fri. That is why the Disney channel is so successful on weekends cause there is no one else offering anything to them. Are you listening abc?

And One Tree Hill. Because I love that show. Wink

If the CW doesn't fold, I think OTH will be renewed, as long as Sophia Bush is on board. But I think the CW will either renew SPN or SV, i'd like for both to end, but what will the CW do with the timeslots? Every year, the CW can only create one show that does well. At least SV and SPN are somewhat reliable.

Well, FOX has still has 100000000 TIL DEATH episodes from last season, so it's not like they wouldn't have anything to air come midseason. Then they have AI, 24 and I believe two new midseason dramas (which don't look very promising), so they have enough new stuff which they can air in the timeslot of Dollhouse, sadly.

Dollhouse premiere was pretty awesome last night. Better than most of season one. I am really happy it got a second season.

Interested to see how Ugly Betty does on Friday nights. Ugly Betty and Dollhouse are my favorite one-hour-shows on network television and I might end up losing both this season. NOT FAIR.-

I believe Smallville and Supernatural were impacted negatively by the absence of the others casual viewers that just didn't stick. I know I watched Smallville most weeks waiting for SPN, but didn't tune in last night. I'm sure there are more viewers like that and vice versa. Too bad the CW screwed with that demo. TVD's tween girl audience just doesn't cross over to SPN and SMVL doesn't have any support of Fridays. Too bad, but this is what I thought would happen when the schedule change was announced. Luckily both shows will get their year runs and be able to finish up in a way to satisfy the long time fans.

ROFL. That's all they had to say?

And wait...was that the last episode of Smackdown or something? Because it should have been gone last season, right? The comedy block was on Fridays last season.
