I agree that demos should not be the only factor, but they are the most importent factor -and it has nothing to do with trust. Wink Moreover, there is no show on any network on Fridays getting anywhere near 15 million viewers.

I was talking in general not about friday nights. In fact i think especially on fridays the demos are not so important beacause it's impossible to get great demos on friday. CBS tried to do just that with Moonlight and failed miserably

I do not think Moonlight failed .. It has the most hype and is developing a large fanbase and has CBS seems to be behind it hence the Nina and Les comments and there is no doubt Alex O'Laughlin is emerging as one of the hottest break out stars of the new season and Sophia Myles is getting reconition too ..
I think both WMC and ML will be back next year but there is no way I would say ML is any failure ..
I do not think CBS is disappointed with ML and winning the Best New Show at the PC awards is encouraging too !! I think CBS will keep ML around .

The People's Choice award is a decent indicator of the popularity of Moonlight. CBS has very few shows with vocal fan bases and buzz like this. No way this show is a failure nor is it going anywhere anytime soon.

Moonlight is also CBS's bestselling downloaded show on Amazon and iTunes. CSI:LV is usually a distant second on Amazon.

Are you kidding? They gave that award beacause CBS aired the ceremony. And we all know how important this award is by the rating numbers. The advirtisers are paying accordingly with the Nielsen numbers not with one award or another.
And of course Moonlight is a failure compared with the numbers of the show that previously occupied that time slot.

And what hype has Moonlight? Nobody i know talks about this show. I don't see many articles in the media about this show, on the tv forums i read there are few posts in this show's threads. Where's the hype?
Oh wait Moonlight seems the new VM. That was another show "very hyped" and watch almost by no one. We all know its faith by now

See here is where you lost me. First, advertisers mostly pay mostly based on demo numbers and you just spent quite a few posts downplaying the effect of the stronger demo numbers of ML vs WMC. Second, as other have stated on this board, you can't just state that because ML's numbers are lower this season compared to those of CTH that it makes ML a loser. Most shows this season, including ML's lead-in GW, are down from last season. Logic leads to the conclusion that CTH would have been down from last season as well. CTH has two seasons to become a hit. Even if ML never becomes a hit, it won't mean that cancelling CTH was the incorrect move.

Sorry Robert but you're blowing smoke and you know it too LOL !!
While you obviously hate Moonlight many people do not and actually *gasp* enjoy it enough to vote for it and it so has *buzz* and supporters galore ..
I've seen nothing on WMC except for here and a few media artcles but have seen plenty on Moonlight before and after its premiere episode ..
And as your statement " nobody you know watched the show " well alot of people I know do watch it and talks about it .
Mick/Beth are one of the most ( if not the most ) talked about TV twosomes and ML has set itself apart from the other vamps genre by its vampire originality .
CBS has a winner on its hands and knows it .

I've seen nothing on Criminal Minds in the media and it gets 15 million viewers. Who cares? I actually was applauding Moonlight by saying it's not hyped. Beacause if it's so hyped like you say than the numbers it gets are even wors than i originally thought.

But anyway just tell me if it's so loved by young individuals like you seem to suggest why on Earth does so badly in demos?
Usually the shows that are buzzed in the media and recieve awards like People's Choice get low viewing numbers but good demos numbers. Moonlight does exactly the opposite: decent viewing numbers and bad demo numbers

It may seem i have something agains Moonlight but that's tottally false. I'm often accused of being too CBS supportive so why should i have something against this show. I have nothing against Moonlight being renwed.
I know it's hard when you like a show to be objective but i don't think it's correct to say something like "Mick/Beth are one of the most ( if not the most ) talked about TV twosomes". I'm a person very interested in television, i read a lot of articles about television and i cannot understand how you can say something like that. Who are these two? I mean for a long period of time i didn't watch GA but following the media i knew a lot about Meredith/Derek or Cristina/ Preston.I don't know nothing about Mick/ Beth. Where are they talked about?

If the strike doesn't end Moonlight will be renwed despite of the fact that it's bringing CBS's lineup down
Lets not forget that this IS a freshman series. You can't expect it to do as well as the veteran series that surround it. ONLY droping a 1.5 million viewers and 0.5 in the demo is not to bad.

You know, if Dexter does well during the Sunday run, I wonder if CBS would think about a Sunday Lineup that finishes with Dexter and Monlight at (9pm & 10pm), or other similar type of programs.

CBS is vulnerable on Fridays bit it's still winning beacause the other networks are afraid to throw strong counter programming.

For example the following ABC lineup: Eli Stone, WMC, Boston Legal would put CBS in difficulty

What makes you think that Eli Stone would beat GW? Also, Moonlight has been up against WMC most of the season and has beaten WMC most of the season in the demo at least. As for BL, it might indeed hurt Numb3rs but it is way to expensive of a drama to put on Fridays, IMHO.

WMC has beaten Moonlight not the other way around, BL would be neck in neck with Numbers, and Eli Stone might be a good challenger for GW.

And BL would pull pretty much the same numbers on Fridays as it does now especially since it's an old skewing show
I'm not sure it would do the same numbers on a Friday as it does on Tuesdays, but it would make ABC stronger on the night.

BL, which started strong this season, lost a lot of steam once it lost DWtS as its lead in, so I would not assume viewers are going to naturally move with it to fridays.

BL would still get 9-10 million on fridays. I think BL is one of the shows with a consitent fanbase.
