Relatively speaking, I agree. But looking at those numbers for CBS last night, there's no way it will get any better when AI comes along. This week has shown that viewers are ready for original content, and at this point reality TV is stronger than ever.

I agree. I think CBS overestimated the power of their reruns. When AI comes back in two weeks, CBS Tuesday and Wednesday will be invisible.
But what gets hurt more by AI, the CBS repeats or sometimes weak original content on the other nets? I would think shows like Super Nanny would take a bigger hit relative to this week once AI premiers.

Will it be airing multiple times a week the way DEAL or NO DEAL is "stripped" by NBC?
That could work for now (put the random reruns on Wed at 8 and P10 on Thurs), but what would you do with it when Survivor starts? Move it back to Wed?

Yes, there are many predictions. Just check out the PIFeedback Daily Game for today!

There are enough candidates running for President to fill a couple months worth of shows.
alot of you are bashing cbs for its performance last night...and although it was bad were any of you surprised? it went up against all new programming on 3 nets...is this really a shock?
nbc has the momentum at the moment and i would not be surprised if nbc actually hurts abc in the long run...
both are premiering shows on the same nights (mondays/wednesdays/thursdays/sundays)...they should cancel eachother out but imo nbc should be a bit tougher (especially since abc shows repeat poorly)
cbs on the other hand has a big problem...vs other repeats cbs does well, but vs new reality it doesnt...plus the fact that there are some new shows that skew similar to cbs' core audience (l&o, DOND) so everything does hinge on big brother...3 days a week will either make or break cbs.
if bb can do a modest 2.5 demo average for the 3 nights then cbs will have an easy 2nd place finish in the demos...if it tanks towards 2.0 then cbs may face 4th place...
it "wont" be interesting...

But, it did skew older than last year. Most of that viewer growth came from viewers outside of the demo, not from inside.
So, viewer growth AND growth in the demo are a bad thing if the growth is mostly in 'non-demo viewers' by your logic?
This is NBC we are talking about, right? The network that has a ton of growing shows to choose from?

I was just pointing out something that I thought was interesting, no need for you to be annoyed.
I am only 'annoyed' because the negative spin makes no sense at all. NBC just brought a veteran show back on the air and it showed growth vs. last year. The NBC execs were probably euphoric, yet you think the numbers are disappointing because of the ratio in which the growth occurred.

True, but I don't think you can use a week when there are four primetime bowl games, and a couple of premiers on other nets, as a predicter for how CBs will do for rest of the season. Many of these same shows were repeating better through most of December. As I said, I really think much of CBS' fortunes come down to how well BB does. I forgot what nights BB will be on. I know it will be on Sundays but what are the other two nights?
Well, its only gonna have a short run as it is now. Once BB statrts, P10 is done to make way for the Wednesday Edition of BB

Don't we get enough of them on Cable News programs/networks????
So, viewer growth AND growth in the demo are a bad thing if the growth is mostly in 'non-demo viewers' by your logic?
It was a simple observation. Don't blow it out of proportion.
The viewer and demo growth is great especially in this day and age. Period.

30 Rock is growing too.

I never said they were disappointing. Stop putting words in my mouth.
It was an observation. I didn't say it needs to be instantly cancelled. I didn't say NBC execs shouldn't be happy. I said this premiere skewed older than last year's.
I really shouldn't have to go back and forth with you on an observation, and you really should not care as much as you do.
EDIT: You might think that because I'm saying "given NBC's current fortunes" that I'm saying that the results are disappointing. The results would be solid on any network. I mean to say "especially" given NBC's fortunes.

Maybe...Jeremy Sisto has a HUGE high school following after his one episode of American Dad.
L&O is a show that is known for skewing older given its longevity, age of its leads, among other factors.
Hmmm...maybe 60 Minutes is watched by ALOT of toddlers. You got me thinkin' here.
YES, I am kidding.
but to prove a point. We always forget about the 18 & Under group when we see numbers outside of the demo. And there are some that watch a show like L&O.
Heck, my kids Love CSI, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, and so on.
Besides, no one cares about the Ratio of viewers. Its about the bottom line. How many in this group, and how many in that group.
