What follows is the fast affiliate rating results for Monday, November 16, 2009 in the order of total viewers and adults 18-49 by network and by half hour per program (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox). Due to a time restraint, I will let you come up with your own analysis.
The drop at the half for Castle is huge. This show really is becoming just a timeslot player. I'll be interesting to see how it does November 23rd when it isn't going after DWTS.
LTM had a weird drop also.
Even with all of it's stunts and promotions, it's interesting that OTH still outrates GG. I'm sure that can't make CW too happy.
The drop at the half for Castle is huge. Eeker This show really is becoming just a timeslot player. I'll be interesting to see how it does November 23rd when it isn't going after DWTS.
And even more interesting to see how this season of Castle does when it isn't first-run.
Though ABC would be well-advised to never let us find out.
I just can't understand the terrible ratings GG gets, 'cause still is the most talked about show on college and the other circles I live with. Seems like everybody watches it, but not live.

Gossip isn't such a great indicator of popularity, it seems. Which really undercuts the underlying thesis of the show, when you think on it.
"Castle" didn't really drop. We know that first half hour is affected by the minute overrun from DTWS. We know "Castle" delivers about 9.5-10m viewers and a mid 2 in the 18-49 for first-run episodes. It doesn't really fluctuate much. We also know Pisher doesn't favor the series. Nothing new here, folks.

And that Castle gets sampled by DWTS viewers, and that most of the samplers drop out before 10:30pm.
The second half hour is the real audience. Less than 10mil viewers, 2.3 in the demo. Eminently cancellation-worthy.

Excuse me, but a lot of people here do NOT know that. They think it's been doing better. Because we don't always get the half-hourly #'s for Castle.

Nope. Castle's still a demo flop that can't hold its lead-in, against one other scripted show and Jay Leno--and both those shows went UP at the half hour, btw.
So probably Castle actually lost some viewers to Jay. That might be new.
Less than 10 mil is cancelation worthy? I guess ABC better start axing a lot of shows then.
Sorry pisher, but your spinning is just so see-through. For somebody who hates Castle so much, you sure love to talk about it. You sure you're not secretly watching every week?
As for Castle's ratings, anybody who actually pays attention sees a steady show that can bring in decent ratings, which is a boast most recent ABC shows can't really make. With most of the new shows falling, I think ABC would be fools to chuck their steady show. And all of the reasons pisher gives for Castle's ratings being bad really do not hold up under any scrutiny. (We know you do not like Castle pisher.) And of course people without an axe to grind against Castle see that.
Finally a good episode for BBT this season, and yes no Penny-Leonard moments in it. Well deserved numbers for OTH as well, what was Lady Gaga doing on GG. They showed her for few seconds, expected a lot more
