I'm not going to defend either one on a quality basis ("The Singing Bee" is a much better music game show), but they have turned around what was a bad night for Fox *and* they are beating other networks than The CW. Berman's on target this time.

So for the night NBC has two 'Losers' and one 'Should be retired', while Fox has two 'Honorable' and no 'Loser'. Yet NBC finishes at 2.8 demo/ 6.5m and Fox at 2.2 demo/ 7.7m. Something doesn't add up.

And if that's honorable, then 'Life' and 'Bionic Woman' are honorable as well, and PD is the ratings triumph of the century.

The bottom line is that Marc hates NBC, he holds FOX to a lower standard for some unknown reason, he loves CBS, and he is neutral on ABC. When reading his columns and his winners/losers keep this in mind and take everything will make sense.

Sounds like you just have gotten a batch of sour grapes. Wink

Finally, someone is making sense here. Smiler

ER grew 67% out of Scrubs in viewers and 25% among adults 18-49.

Without A Trace lost 32% in viewers and 42% in demo from CSI.

And they were almost even (3.0 vs. 3.2) in demo - which is the only thing that matters.

ER would get Honorable Mention and WAT is almost borderline loser with that drop.

Last year's special two part in November was better. Its not time to cancel ER... for a show still getting 3.0 in the demo at NBC is a blessing for them...

It has put FOX at the very bottom of the Thursday Map in the demo. Again, with this logic BS and Life are amazing achievements.

If you follow the conversation today, people were talking about how last nite's shows hitting season lows. Nobody mentioned shows being down from last December

Might as well say the tempeture is a little lower in december, than the previous months, because of the change in weather.

If anything, More people should be watching TV with more people taking advantage of online shopping.

This is the second year for the NFL Network carring games.

They only time I have seen ratings for their games was the recent Packers v Cowboys game, which drew 10 million.

I would suspect that since we don't here much about the other games is that the ratings are somehwat low for an NFL presentation.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that the game got about 10 million. Which is incredible considering that NFL Netowrk is only in about 40 million homes.

Til Death and the OC's 4 million or 5th graders 9 million??? Roll Eyes

I guess you're one of "THOSE PEOPLE" who have been brain washed to believe that the "Demo" is everything and the only thing. Wink

Yea, FOX still sucks on Fridays, no doubt about that,

Maybe FOX should move Bones to Fridays and solve the problem? Wink

Seriously, though, I don;t think moving Bones will be near the disaster that everyone is predicting.

As for ANTM vs B2Y and TD, yes, ANTM is beating it in demo, but it has been around for years.

This is a reflection of just how strong ANTM is demo-wise. It is about 25% better than CW's next best show each week.

B2Y will be this years project for FOX.

Like many 'projects', it is time to condemn.

I understand that.

But its not like its not expected, has not happend before and is not a rare occurence.

Are the ratings down from October & Novemeber?
Yes

Is this a suprise?
No.

Why?
Because its happens every year.

But a large majority of those 40 million homes chose to include it in their cable package. Most cable systems have it on a sports tier, which you have to pay extra for. It not like its the Sci-Fi Channel getting 10 million for a programm

I have to agree with that, espcially since WMC has done well on that night. It will take a hit from its normal numbers, but should do better on the night than anything else fox has had there this century.

Grey's is suffering from lack of emotional direction for me right now.

I was very on board with two or three episodes ago, and this "event" two-parter has been good (a bit too busy, if you ask me, but whatever... better than being boring). The season three finale should've ended Meredith and Derek's romance. It was over. Then this season they're in this wishy-washy on/off casual sex relationship? It doesn't work. As much as I can abhor Meredith at times, she is the center of the show, she ties it all together, and for the first three seasons it was her emotional arc that really carried the show. Is it cool that the love is being spread to others? Sure. But with Meredith having such an unclear emotional state, it has become (for me) more difficult to really to care about what's going on in the show. The metaphors fall flat. Without know what the character wants, everything else suffers.

The strongest characters and plots on the show right now are the ones where you know what the character wants. Cristina wants (and it's so palpable) the respect of Dr. Hahn and the education she deserves. And she's facing obstacles. And it pisses her off. But she's struggling with them and I'm right there with her. Bailey is having marriage problems, is trying to balance being a working wife and mother, was dealing with being overlooked for a job she deserved. Lexi's plot is good, though it's sort of been pushed to the sidelines as a mini-Meredith plot. She wants to get to know her sister, and at the same time she's going through many of the things Meredith herself was going through last year (er, over the last three seasons, and replacing a resident for an attending)

Then you have Derek... who is just floundering. Whatever at this point. I mean, why is Meredith still pining for him? Move on. The Chief is in the same old "stick with the hospital, reconcile with the wife" plot, but it's not done nearly as effectively as Bailey's has been. And, really, enough with episode after episode ending Gizzie. END IT ALREADY. Once and for all. Again, wishy-washy.

And... ugh, Private Practice. I was excited around episode 4 when the show had a too brief moment of decency. It justified sticking with it. But it is really drek right now. They took all the stakes out of Grey's Anatomy, and they took Addison out of Addison. Get the girl back in an OR. And... my god, is it just me or did this week's episode make a point that ALL OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE SEXUALLY ENGAGED WITH AT LEAST ONE OF THE OTHERS? I mean, good lord, I thought Seattle Grace was an incestuous, sex-crazed hospital. It pales in comparison!

ok, so it seems nobody here watched greys last night, because if anyone did, they would have realised how AWESOME it was, the best episode of the season, and much better than last years dismal three parter, Greys has been on a roll creatively this season, and last night was just at its peak

no greys fans here?

I've DVRed but have yet to watch it (was not home) -- online reviewed for this episode have been positive, but I disagree with you about this season as a whole: the entire George/Izzie plot had me almost quit the show, and I've only watched a handful of episodes this season. Like most shows, I think Grey's suffers creatively because Shonda Rhimes had to create and launch Private Practice: reminiscent of how Alias dove creatively once LOST was launched by JJ Abrams.

See a review of the season before this episodes reflecting those thoughts: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22104847/

But it sounds like last night's episodes may have turned things around, according to the following article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14484204/ ).

Once I watch the DVRed episode, I'll judge for myself...

5 across. 5 letter. Who won Survivor All-Stars?
5 down. 6 letters. Who deserves to win Survivor China?
