Let's see how Fringe does after House.
The repeat #'s are somewhat encouraging, but at this point there's just no way of knowing how well this show is going to work on a week by week basis.
Why not move the animated shows all to Wednesday? FOX seems to want to use that for sitcoms and they haven't had any real live action sitcom success in a long time. I'm sure the Idol audience would be willing to watch a cartoon.
Proposed Wednesday Pre-Idol: 8/7c - Simpsons 8:30/7:30c - King of the Hill 9/8c - Family Guy 9:30/7:80c - American Dad
Proposed Wednesday with Idol: 8/7c - Simpsons 8:30/7:30c - Family Guy 9/8c - Idol: Results 9:30/7:80c - Cleavland Show
Proposed Wednesday Post-Idol: 8/7c - Simpsons 8:30/7:30c - American Dad 9/8c - Family Guy 9:30/7:80c - Cleavland Show
Proposed New Sunday: 7/6c - The OT / Comedy Encores 8/7c - Bones 9/8c - New Drama (Courtroom K?) or Til Death & New Comedy
I think the animated lineup should stay right where it is on Sunday. Why would FOX mess with one of its strongest nights? However, maybe they could cancel Do Not Disturb and try one of the animated comedies to see how it does. If it works, I may change my mind. However, until then, I like it on Sundays.

The CW Sunday got good numbers with repeats. Goes to show that dramas my have a good footing on the night. Same goes for FOX. To pop over 5 million for a repeat, not bad. Maybe animation domination should move.
Maybe when Idol returns, they shouldn't move Bones to Friday to put House on Wednesday, but move House to Sundays. That would give the Desperate Housewives something to worry about.
Tuesday: 8/7c - Idol: Performance 9/8c - Fringe
Wednesday: 8/7c - Bones 9/8c - Idol: Results 9:30/8:30c - Cleveland Show (new animated comedy)
Sunday: 7/6c - The OT / Animated Encores 7:30/6:30c - King of the Hill (new time) / Animated Encores 8/7c - The Simpsons 8:30/7:30c - Sit Down, Shut Up (new animated show) / Til Death (new time) 9/8c - House (new night and time)

I'm guessing Bones will be on Monday's after the cancellation of Dollhouse.

Perhaps they could try King of the Hill on Wednesdays but realistically, Til Death is a goner too and I think a new comedy will end up airing post-Idol results this midseason. I do agree that the animated lineup is not dead on Sundays so don't mess with it. It just needs King of the Hill to retire and for some fresh blood to air around the Simpsons and Family Guy. American Dad could then realistically move up to 7:30 or one of the newer shows could go there should they not show as much promise as once wanted.

This will allow NBC to fix their comedy roster or maybe even air some of their mid-season sitcoms on Saturday nights. I don't think they will do that bad if they promote the night all week long.
I agree with you and Thank God You're Here had potential for a timeslot like that. It would take the pressure off and allow the series to ultimately grow.
Saturdays at 10 would've been interesting for that show. I also think it would've been a solid summer series for them to pair with Last Comic Standing (although that show now appears to be dead).
I see little reason for FOX to move the toons away from Sunday. They won't do better on another night. They are steady and suck up the NFL overrun pretty well. House doesn't need the NFL as a lead-in, anyways.
On to another matter. Does anyone know what Nielsen does when there are so many people without power. Do they ignore the whole market? Houston is the fourth biggest market in the US and there millions without power.
In addition, there were hundreds of thousands without power (combined) in Ohio and Western PA during the Sunday Night NFL game. Sure, neither Cleveland and Pittsburgh are not the biggest markets, but given the huge numbers who generally watch in the home markets in the NFL, the loss of viewers still has to have some affect.

No, because they can't false advertise. Fox must be adding both nights together, plus all online viewers, plus what they think it might have gotten on DVR, plus iTunes downloads.
I thought the FCC bites their ass for false advertisement?

Do you have any cite/data to support your contention that 23 million peiople watched part of Fringe? I find that very hard to believe. The 'average' we got as a number was barely over 9 million viewers. It simply isn't realistic to claim that another 14million watched 6 minutes worth and turned it off, not to mention that a bunch of the 9 million would also have to turn it off early to keep the average down given the theory that those other 14 million exist. I think FOX took hour #1's 9million, hour #2's 9 million and the encores 5million and added them together for their made up number. I agree with you that 'total viewers' will always be higher than the average, but not by more than double.

They probably took the total viewer number of the first airing and added that to the total of new viewers in its repeat airing together.
Thats just it. The Toons do BETTER aginst tougher competition. Once football was over, their ratings fell.
Plus, I hate when a network "plays it Safe". FOX should be more agressive on Sundays and create a Win-Win by moving things around a little, much like how they moved BONES and HOUSE this season.

We see ALL the networks do this. The take the data and, without lying, minipulate the date to a positive spin.
IIRC, America's Got Talent did something similar over the summer with their numbers.
I do want to correct myself, the CW doesnt do this, they still cant find 7 million for ANY Show, even with number minipulation.
