-Ratings Breakdown: Despite airing all repeats, CBS led Monday, with a first-place finish in total viewers and adults 18-49 (tied with Fox in the demo). Here is the breakdown for both networks:
CBS/Monday 8:00 p.m. The Big Bang Theory (R) Viewers: 6.00 million (#2), A18-49: 1.9 rating/6 share (#3t)
8:30 p.m. How I Met Your Mother (R) Viewers: 5.42 million (#3), A18-49: 1.9/ 5 (#3)
9:00 p.m. Two and a Half Men (R) Viewers: 9.86 million (#1), A18-49: 3.0/ 7 (#1)
9:30 p.m. The New Adventures of Old Christine (R) Viewers: 7.35 million (#1), A18-49: 2.3/ 6 (#2)
Although Prison Break perked up in the demo, comparably the two dramas on average are down by double-digits from year-ago occupants Prison Break and K-Ville. It’s not good.
NBC’s Deal or No Deal opened the evening on a winning note, with 8.76 million viewers and a 2.0/ 6 among adults 18-49 (tied with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). But lead-out America’s Toughest Jobs, which heads to Friday, sunk to a series-low 4.95 million viewers (#4) and a 1.6/ 4 in the demo (#5). You’re not surprised, are you? That led into a Monday edition of Dateline at a last-place 4.38 million viewers and a 1.4/ 4 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m.
ABC populated the evening with theatrical Batman Begins, which averaged a mere 5.68 million viewers (#4) and a 1.9/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#3) from 8-11 p.m. Remember the days when movies were big events on the small screen? Times have changed, and not necessarily for the better.
Last in total viewers, fourth among adults 18-49, and still expected to pull a punch among target young females, was the CW’s combination of Gossip Girl (Viewers: #5: 3.73 million; A18-49: #3t, 1.9/ 5) and One Tree Hill (Viewers: #5, 3.35 million; A18-49: #4: 1.8/ 4), which fit like a glove together. For the first time in years, I am happy to report that the results for One Tree Hill are healthy!
Next week at this time I will be reporting on the first night of the 2008-09 season!
I don't think its even a question anymore, FOX is going to get crushed when NBC comes in with Chuck and Heroes. PB and T:SCC have already crashed and burned. When is the last time a FOX Monday did less than 6 million?
As for FOX well why on Earth they've renwed TSCC? PB deserves a proper ending, i really hope FOX will treat this show rightfully. I don't think they'll go bankrupt if they give PB a final full season.
Other websites are reporting 3.33 million for GG. Not to mention that in overnights OTH is also ahead. Marc, are you sure is 3.73. That would be a series best

3.73 or 3.33...either would be an increase from last week and much better than what the show was doing almost all of last season. It has definitely improved for the CW. Perhaps not worthy of ALL the glory CW puts on it, but it deserves some.
If FOX has to cancel something, and can't axe both Monday dramas, SCC is the one that should go. It didn't earn this season with its ratings--it was given a tremendous push last season (and again this season)--it had a huge football game as a lead-in for its pilot. It had every possible advantage. And it just kept dropping.
FOX only renewed it because they were so invested in it. But it was a mistake. And they can pretend otherwise for the rest of this season, but it'll always be a mistake.
There is one more advantage left... Terminator: Salvation. Maybe Fox will hold on for the full season and give it an ending that fits with the whole Terminator franchise... At least the DVDs will sell.
Absolutely. It's the lowest viewed hour block on FOX. Even Hole In The Wall and Don't Forget the Lyrics on Friday earned a higher rating. It'll be lucky to air all 13.

I have serious doubts that either SCC or PB will air an episode in 2009. With all the stuff rolling out at midseason for Fox, I just don't think they're going to need low to mid-2 demo options.
Jobs will certainly be doing no favors for Crusoe and Life on Fridays.
Congrats to Gossip Girl on a series high! But was there another Cubs preemption last night?

How likely is it that FOX will cancel this show before its full run of ordered episode are shown (13 is it?).
Although it seems I'm one of the last few people who are still enjoying this show, I've gotta admit that Fox would probably be better off airing repeats of House or something. I mean with the extra competition next week its probably gonna be below 5mil viewers and perhaps as low as 1.5 in the demo.

I don't see a single mid-season new show on FOX hitting 6 million after a couple of episodes
And once again, let's wait for a confirmation that was a series high for GG

FOX isn't releasing the DVDs, though. WB production, remember? WB movie. Basically, they are taking a terrible hit in the ratings to promote the product of a deadly rival.
Hard to say what cross-promotional deals were made. But even if it drags on a while longer, SCC is a dead show walking. And the people who put it on the air have egg all over their faces.
Along with all the people here who gloated when it got renewed.

tvbythenumbers has the 3.73 number as well.
And for Fox midseason, I was mostly referring to 24 and Idol filling up 3 more hours. There just aren't that many spots and I would guess they'll cycle through a bunch of new shows before they'd resort to one of these again.
