-Countdown to the Fall Season:
14 days

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
NBC won this first Sunday in September with ease care of Chicago at Indianapolis on Sunday Night Football at an approximate 16.74 million viewers and a 6.7 rating/16 share among adults 18-49 for the prime-time (8:30-11 p.m. portion). Comparably, the year-ago football match-up averaged 15.32 million viewers and a 6.5/17 in the demo. Earlier in the evening on NBC was the football pre-game at an estimated 8.69 million viewers (#2) and a 2.2/ 7 among adults 18-49 (#3) in the 7 p.m. hour, and 13.58 million viewers (#1) and a 5.1/14 in the demo (#1) in the 8 p.m. half-hour. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

Fox got an early evening boost care of NFL Football at a hefty (and dominant) 11.75 million viewers and a 3.2/10 among adults 18-49 from 7-7:30 p.m. Next was The OT at 7.04 million viewers (#3) and a 3.2/10 (#1) among adults 18-49, followed by the premiere/preview of the non-scripted Hole in the Wall (Viewers: #3, 7.04 million; A18-49: #2, 3.5/ 9), a repeat of The Simpsons (Viewers: #4, 5.26 million; A18-49: #3, 2.4/ 6), and two repeat episodes of Family Guy (Viewers: #2, avg. 5.49 million; A18-49: #2, avg. 2.5/ 6 from 9-10 p.m.). Considering Hole in the Wall built by nine percent among adults 18-49 out of The OT, this a positive start.

CBS opened the evening with veteran 60 Minutes at 9.67 million viewers (#1) and a 1.7/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 7 p.m., followed by Big Brother 10 (Viewers: #2, 7.62 million; A18-49: #3, 27/ 7), and U.S. Open Tennis (Viewers: 4.75 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3), which was pushed back to Sunday because of the rain on Saturday.

ABC had nothing of note with its combination of a repeat of America’s Funniest Home Videos (Viewers: #4, 5.84 million; A18-49: #4, 1.4/ 5), a repeat of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Viewers: #4, 5.91 million; A18-49: #4, 1.6/ 4), and two-hour special America United: In Support of Our Troops (Viewers: 4.39 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3 from 9-11 p.m.). The CW was actually above-average with its line-up of a repeat of One Tree Hill (Viewers: #5, 1.27 million; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 2) and the two-hour America’s Next Top Model season opener (Viewers: #5, 1.77 million; A18-49: 0.7/ 2).

The CW must be happy. They beat CBS and ABC for the week.
Of course, the lineup of ABC and CBS were 90% repeats.

Great number for BB10....Although I fear Dan's meeting with jury member Michelle is gonna come back to bite him, (Really, if he wanted to pick a jury member, he probably had no other choice-Libra and Renny probably will vote for him if it's Dan/Memphis as it's looking to be, Ollie is a lost cause, and April will probably follow his lead- Michelle could be swayed by Dan by saying he took her on the day out after she got "screwed" out of the Hawaii trip by Libra...or she could come back to the jury house even madder at him because of his antics and poison the jury even more)...

Dan on BB10 is playing one heck of a game. He's dominated the last few weeks. He deserves to win. He's made some very shrewd moves and always seems one step ahead of everyone else.

Wow..are thoe BIG BROTHER's highest ratings for the season...for one of the most boring episodes? Ironic.

The Dan/Memphis fest continues to be to much to take. The moth they fed to the spider was the lucky one to escape the obnoxious duo.

There is now no hope for a non Dan/Memphis final two because Jerry has fallen for Dan's ploy to make him think he's NOT allied with Memphis so if by some miricle Jerry wins POV he will use it to take Memphis off the block and send Keesha home.

The season started out great but once they started pagoning with Libra each boot has been predictable as will Memphis winning the season.

Good ratings for Hole in the Wall. Even if it settles in at a 2.7 in the demo on Thursdays, that'll be pretty decent.

I, for one, enjoyed it even though Brooke Burns is annoying. I like her acting much better than her hosting.

The NFL Ratings Spaceship Has Just Landed As NBC & FOX BENEFITS FOR HOLE IN THE WALL

WOW! I'm kinda of surprised Bears-Colts out-rated America's Favorite team Dallas Cowboys this year. NBC has the biggest event and that's the Super Bowl this year and they had the Olympics and you can see those big numbers helping the fourth place network out big time. Even Football Night in America had a good rating. The NFL might be still on par with last year although losing Tom Brady is going to hurt, but at least they still prove there's 31 other teams that can draw out there.

FOX's NFL coverage was probably super high with the Cowboys on during the afternoon, but I'm noticing Hole in the Wall getting a good rating against the MTV Awards, Big Brother, and SNF. That's a good start for the show holding The OT's audience. FOX so far has only failed with Kitchen Nightmares and I think Prison Break still had a decent start since the demo was good.

Both FOX & CW had a great week as they proved if you start the season the same week as Labor Day you can still get good ratings.

Pretty good repeat numbers for CW, but I'm not crediting Ostroff for that b/c she's still a horrible programmer.

Big Brother is a ratings smasher against anything.

If I were CBS I would really think about moving 60 Minutes to older skewing Saturday. CBS needs to do what FOX did and take advantage of the NFL bump with placing series at 7pm. Hole in the Wall benefited from the NFL on FOX.

Yeah!!! What a fun episode of Big Brother and Dan again showed us why he deserves to take it all. Picking Michele from the Jury house was genius as she is his biggest hater.

I really hope Dan bucks the odds and takes it all.

I agree with you so much AC, the high rating had alot to do with the bump from Tennis and 60 Minutes.

Dan & Memphis are boring and I can't even watch it anymore until the finale. They completely ruined this great season. I wish Ollie and Michelle had gotten together a week or two earlier to build their alliance and got Memphis and Dan evicted.
