10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 6.39 million (#2), A18-49: 1.6/ 4 (#3)
10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 6.35 million (#2), A18-49: 1.5/ 4 (#3)

ABC finished a distant third in total viewers and fourth among adults 18-49 with its encore combination of America’s Funniest Home Videos (Viewers: #2, 7.54 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 6), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Viewers: #3, 7.14 million; A18-49: #3t, 2.3/ 6), and two episodes of Desperate Housewives (Viewers: 5.53 million; A18-49: 2.0/ 5 from 9-11 p.m.). Next was Fox care of back-to-back repeats of The Simpsons (Viewers: #4, avg. 4.06 million; A18-49: #4, avg. 1.7/ 5 from 7-8 p.m.) and a repeat of the two-hour Fringe pilot (Viewers: #4, 5.70 million; A18-49: #2, 2.4/ 6 from 8-10 p.m.). And the CW was above-average with its encore line-up of One Tree Hill (Viewers: #5, 1.30 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1), Privileged (Viewers: #5, 2.01 million; A18-49: #5, 0.8/ 2) and America’s Next Top Model (Viewers: #5, 2.73 million; A18-49: #5, 1.2/ 3). Keep in mind that Fox aired The Emmy Awards on the year-ago Sunday, which resulted in the steep year-to-year erosion.

So if I'm reading this right-even with the football delay a CLIP show of BIG BROTHER got at least 7 million viewers?!

The casting people deserve credit for finding a more diverse group of interesting people this year...From Ollie and April who I liked to Dan and Memphis who I didn't to everyone in between...in other words at least some of the houseguests appealed to everyone even the early bootees like Stephen (it was good to see a gay houseguest not typecast as a screaming drama queen for once and Angie (the self proclaimed Asian Sensation) who seemed like a very normal person thrust into the world of BIG BROTHER.

Well done.

Can't wait to see what new FRINGE episode does on Tuesday now will ALL the sampling out of the way with the reairing of the pilot.

Big Brother will drop some in the finals. But all in all it was good night for television.

The CW Sunday got good numbers with repeats. Goes to show that dramas my have a good footing on the night. Same goes for FOX. To pop over 5 million for a repeat, not bad. Maybe animation domination should move.

As Zedman pointed out in the other thread, the CW numbers are most likely due to Chicago's local affiliate (WGN) playing a special Cubs game. Expect everything to drop a 1 million or so viewers in finals.

Is the CW regretting handing off its Sunday night to another company that is bound to produce a line-up that is lower-rated than what they're airing right now.

Moving the Sunday Fox-toons would be a mite risky--and given that Thursday is comedy-heavy, might not work well as counter-programming.

Let's see how Fringe does after House.

The repeat #'s are somewhat encouraging, but at this point there's just no way of knowing how well this show is going to work on a week by week basis.

That makes much more sense and explains the numbers.

My guess is it doesn't help much at all. The repeat viewers won't offset the viewers that were disastisfied with either airing and don't return. House/Fringe won't have a good flow either. Two completely different audiences.

It looks like the average for BB was about 7.26 million (If you take 25% of the 8:30, 50% of the 9:00, and 25% of the 9:30 half-hours)...I think CBS is kicking themselves that the show is ending Tuesday and not Thursday- I have no doubt that if the finale was Thursday, because of the weaker competition (no AGT, no Wipeout, no Fringe), It'd be well over 8 million viewers. As it is, it'll probably still be in the 7.2-7.3 million range....

Although that clip show was EXTREMELY scripted between Dan/Memphis- they probably could have done better if they had done it from BB's point of view (just have an off-camera voice narrate it)- so they could advertise it as "the one person who's truly seen it all tells all"

Exactly! Except I'd go the other way, nothing in these numbers have shown that it is the hit FOX is expecting. Disappointing premiere numbers, inconclusive repeat numbers. No track record with how it'll do with House.

Etc.
I agree with all of this, especially not liking the Renegades. Then again, the people I hate always find a way to make the final two (except BB8, when I wanted Daniele to win since early on).

I agree. They shouldn't try to relate everything to the final two. For the BB8 recap, I was disappointed when some memorable moments involving other houseguests weren't shown.

Just to be on topic, nice *inflated* BB ratings.
