I don't get what you're saying. Reaper had some soap elements from the start, if anything the romance got less annoying lately. And The Devil never had that much screen time, the mystery is what makes this character work in the show.
That's fine. I'd just rather watch characters i'm more interested in, that's all. I'm not saying the show's bad. Sock(Sock?) is kinda funny and the heroes girl is cute. The main guy though, has no personality.
That may be true, the article I read was stating that the production companies were wanting to make sure the workers got the same amount of work in for the year.
They got their 3 months off in Nov-Feb, so now they are working part of this summer.
of course, having 6-8 episodes before the deadline doesn't hurt either.

They are doing that in preparation for a possible SAG strike, not because they plan to produce extra episodes this next year.

I agree, metal, but here are the estimated voting results from last night's American Idol (Source):
Here's an article, which may make you dislike Mr. Archuleta (or at least feel sorry for him)
Yeah, kinda predictable. I'm good as long as David C. wins though. But I do like Syesha more than Archuletta. I don't really care about their personal dramas.
CW's whole schedule is a joke....They will be done within 10 years min. 5 years is more likely., maybe even 3 if 90210 bombs and gossip girl doesn't grow to 3 mill by next year, since oth, top model and smallville are all on their last legs....
p.s. how do you put those show tags in your signature
On 11th Hour after CSI, 11th Hour's plot description reminds me a bit of NBC's Medical Investigation which worked out decently for NBC on Friday nights but for some reason was unceremoniously canceled. Anyways, I could imagine a show like that working out of CSI. It's basically a procedural with the focus being on science not on crime. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

You mean Simon Fuller? I think the CW could try the X factor though.
I don't think The CW could air The X factor. If I remember correctly, I read in the book "Desperate Networks" that FOX bought the US rights for The X Factor. That was the deal they made with Simon Cowell and was one of his demands to renew his contract for American Idol. FOX demanded in return that Cowell wouldn't appear in any other reality-competition show in the US. FOX bought the rights, because they didn't want the same thing to happen to Idol what happened in the UK. The X factor there caused Idol to disappear off the screen after just 2 seasons. But since Cowell still wanted to make money off of it in the US, he demanded that if FOX didn't want the competition, they should come up with the big bucks.
As much as I love these shows -- the ratings spelled it's doom. October road's return should have been after Grey's full time. On monday, i think it had a hard time even cracking 5 million.

ES was not renwed and WMC canceled beacause of the ratings only, there must have been other reason. ABC knows WMC would've been a better rated show next season than ES when it made the decision
Yeah, I agree there's more to this cancellation than ratings and ABC haven't given any explanation for the cancellation like they have for "Men In Trees" and "October Road", I would like Steve to explain why!

Think about what you are saying. Look at every single network and tell me how many of their current shows will be around in 10 year or even 5 years. The current schedule will tell you next to nothing about what the network will be airing in 10 years.
CSI has had a very uneven season due to the loss of some main characters and the writer's strike which interrupted several storylines. Now with another character leaving this week, I think its success next season depends on how these characters are replaced. Many viewers may tune in for the science, but just as many tune in to see these characters. Although it will probably continue in the top 10,IMO, I doubt we will see 20 million viewers again, other than possibly sweeps months. And if William Petersen were to leave, it would probably settle into the 15 million range like the other CSI spin-offs. Since they are bound to lose total viewers with characters leaving, I think they should try to improve their demo by hiring younger actors. JMHO

I think you misunderstood me....I was saying the whole network will be done, not a particular show.

Bad guys...out to get people with their evil scientific creations. In the first episode, we find out that a pharasudical company is tainting a local water supply as a way to do a field experiment for a new drug. In episode two we meet up against a sociopathic scientist trying to destry Port Charles with a freeze ray. By the time sweeps come around, we will find out that Dr. Evilman is trying to use nuclear isotopes to create a new kind of military soldier: bigger, stronger, and greener than anything that the Army has had before.
