what has coming in second have to do with how much they were affected? The amount of affect is a pretty simple concept. Highschool Musical, The Mole, Gossip Girl, and One Tree Hill did not have any demo drop. CBS took a significant demo drop.

The other networks were basically all below 1.0 every half hour.
The other networks were at the same level the prior week, hence what 'no affect' would mean.

I think they held up well. You have to take into consideration the Olympics is an extraordinary ratings monster like we have never seen before.
No one said that CBS sucked and should close up shop. I said that they were hit hardest, which they were.
You are just too literal for me. Let me sum up the night as I see it :
The Olympics obviously is an extraordinary ratings event like never seen levels before. It did terrific, and NBC deserves credit for terrific ratings. CBS held up the best against it. Yes, they lost demo and viewers, but they still led every half hour as compared to the non-Olympic networks. Most half hours CBS doubled up the other non-Olympic networks. They are the only network to get over 1.5 demos in every half hour. The other networks did not lose much of their demos, but they already were so low there really wasn't much to lose to start with. My personal big loser of the night was Samantha Who. It managed to get an embarrassing 2.5 million and a .8 demo. Everyone one of the CBS sitcoms in every half hour clobbered it. That shows remains a DWTS shadow and nothing more. I have no idea what ABC is going to do with it when DWTS goes on a 3 1/2 month break.
Univision beat 3 of the 4 CBS comedies in the 18-49 demo Monday night. Everyone can guess which comedy actually beat Univision.
Well this is expected. Univision would take the least affect from the Olympics, seeing as how this is a spanish net! Beating a 1.7? Nothing to cheer about.

Will you stop with Univision. Unless Marc starts posting Univision ratings here it simply is never part of the equation.
Why? It did well so it can be "part of the equation".

We're discussing the major networks here. If we want to bring in Univision I guess we need all the numbers from every cable channel, too. For example, I bet The Closer on TNT did well last night, too. Also, ESPN had an NFL game on. I bet that had decent demos. Should we get its numbers to discuss, too ? Unless we have its numbers posted here regularly we cannot discuss them. When has Univision every been discussed here in relation to the major, english speaking networks.
You tell people not to critique ratings because of the Olympics and then you incorrectly analyze and blast Samantha Who's ratings when it improved ABC's ratings performance on a repeat. No, that's not hypocritical at all.

The Olympics is destroying everything in its path. But the biggest loser right now has to be FOX. Prison Break repeats are way down and T:SCC repeats are a mistake and are getting absolutely no new viewers going on during the Olympics. And why is FOX putting Prison Break on at 8, T:SCC at 9 when it is the exact opposite come September? Are they trying to confuse their viewers?

Improved what ? It got lower ratings than Wanna Bet had in that time slot last week, and I don't see how any show could go lower.
Admittedly, it is the wrong week to criticize any show, but come on please admit to me that Samantha Who only gets any kind of ratings when it follows DWTS. It is totally tied to DWTS. I have no idea what ABC is going to do with it while DWTS is off on break. Is that show going to be on for 3 months off for 3 months, than back on. That would be strange for a non-reality show, wouldn't it ?

It's been discussed before. Its doing well in ratings and it should be discussed. Just because it's not included in the ratings by Marc doesnt mean it can't be talked about.

I'm not sure what you were expecting. ABC Mondays are dead until September. The fact that Samantha Who on a repeat attracted any new viewers or demos to the timeslot against the Olympics is reason enough for them to be satisfied.
As for Samantha Who, it's not the first time a comedy is lead in dependent. Christine and Rules of Engagement on CBS were both reliant on Two and A Half Men to earn ratings. While ROE may be somewhat of a self starter, Christine is absolutely going to crash and burn on Wednesdays.

Of course it got lower ratings. 1. It's a repeat 2. It's against the Olympics
So if you think about it, it is probably doing just as well as Wanna Bet would of done.

The CBS sitcoms really took a hit last night, especially Old Christine, which did roughly 2 million more the previous week. The other 3 were both down about a million as well.
FOX - ver pathetic. They should have stuck with House and Bones - they make a great team.
ABC either needs to get rid of HSM or move it to Friday nights. I think SW? repeats were a mistake - does anyone else think that repeating a season of DWTS would have done great ratings here? And The Mole - no big shocker that Craig was The Mole, but it did a season low last night, and it was the finale. I'm still hoping it'll be back next summer, but it won't.

Of course he was the Mole. However, I think it would of been worse if Nicole ended up being the Mole. And the clues given at the end? How could anyone have seen those?
