My immediate observations...
-Wow, nice job Smallville! I'm sure the ink is still wet for 07-08 contracts! Too much Supernatural erosion though.
-The Office and Earl were down almost 20% from their 18-49 finishes last week, but still great.
-Men In Trees retention of less than 50% is still a grave concern for ABC...and erosion at 10:30 is not a good sign for renewal since 1.5 million (or more perhaps) couldn't sit through the whole hour.
-Til Death was up to one of its biggest scores in months...I still enjoy this show as a guilty pleasure.
-Erosion for Scrubs wasn't a good sign either, though it's not low enough to worthy cancellation either.
I'm not sure if the erosion at 10:30 for Men In Trees is because people couldn't sit through it. I think it may be more a result of Grey's Anatomy inflating the ratings for the first half-hour by running over 10:00pm. I find MIT to be an enjoyable hour of television. Hopefully, others will too, over time.
No, MrPotato's right...erosion is erosion.
'Grey's' only ran to 10:01...that's not enough to drastically increase the firsthalf hour viewership. 10:05? Maybe a bit...but not 10:01.
I did catch a little of Smallville last night and the Justice League angle does make it more interesting (and probably provides spinoff opportunities too).
I hear the "Justice" episode of Smallville that aired last night was hugely expensive... they aren't likely to financially be able to do something similar in the near future (at least not with any regularity). Spin-offs, though... which character do you follow?
Do people outside of this industry know who "Moonves" is?

Too inside.. I assumed Marc was referring to all the "jokes" about pilots and which shows to pick up and the on going "Gold Case" show joke.... probably went over a lot of peoples heads....
-The next cycle of America’s Next Top Model will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 28 with a two-hour season-premiere. Although the network remains gung ho about lead-out One Tree Hill, the young adult serial plummeted to a season-low 2.20 million viewers opposite American Idol on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
-Midseason reality/competition Pussycat Dolls: The Search for the Next Doll will debut on Tuesday, March 6 at 9 p.m. (out of lead-in Gilmore Girls). Pussycat Dolls will pre-empt current occupant Veronica Mars for eight weeks, which will return in early May for the first of five self-contained episodes. Prospects for a fourth season of Veronica Mars will, no doubt, be heavily dependent on the ratings for these potentially final episodes. The CW is also expected to officially end veteran 7th Heaven this spring.
-The CW will keep its Monday night sitcom line-up intact for next season, but there could be some potential programming changes. One show that is confirmed to return is Everybody Hates Chris, which was given a 22-episode order.
-Effective immediately, episodes of the CW’s Everybody Hates Chris, All of Us, Girlfriends, The Game, Beauty and the Geek, Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill and Supernatural will be available free to viewers (and presented with limited commercial interruption) at www.CWTV.com. Each episode will be streamed on the website for up to four weeks following their telecast on the network.
Nope..... that is past too inside... that's hidden...

Marc, did Dawn Ostroff say anything else about Supernatural other than it was holding up really well in a tough time slot and it's creatively at its best?

Even though it seems appropriate, I feel sad that we have to begin the mourning process for the long-running 7th Heaven (my all-time favorite show) again...

Please kill Supernatural before someone thinks that it needs to become "family friendly"....not saying you guys are suggesting this, but if a creepy/horror show suddenly becomes family friendly, it needs to be put out to pasture!

I agree - too much erosion for Supernatural, which is a shame because it is a very good show. I think people may have checked it out after Smallville, saw the blood and the body in the beginning of the epsiode amd decided it wasn't family friendly.
This describes exactly why my family doesn't watch Supernatural.

Right. They happened to refer to him. But it didn't matter. Everyone watching the show knew it was a reference to an exec at a competing network. Anyone who wouldn't understand that should, perhaps, not be allowed "outside."

Good for the O.C for going up 200,000 viewers! maybe it is the fact that they are counting down the last episodes in the trailers that people are starting to watch.
Especially because, to my knowledge, a TV set has to be tuned to a particular channel for 6 minutes during a thirty minute block to be counted in the ratings. This is definitely erosion. But, as the other two networks didn't GAIN viewers (can't tell you able cable), it's not necessarily people tuning to the competition. But turning the TV off (which, as HUT levels go down at 10pm and again at 10:30pm, is just something that happens).

Why would anyone think 'Supernatural' needs to be family friendly? I think 7th, GG, Reba, and Chris are the main family-friendly shows on the CW. VM maybe but not as much. But definitely more so than Smallville, Supernatural and Smackdown hahaha
