I just hope it start picking up more and more viewers.
It looks like its starting to! Even though there's dropoff at 10:30pm. Growth takes time, it doesn't happen immediately with scheduling changes like these.

My immediate observations...
-Wow, nice job Smallville! I'm sure the ink is still wet for 07-08 contracts! Too much Supernatural erosion though.
-The Office and Earl were down almost 20% from their 18-49 finishes last week, but still great.
-Men In Trees retention of less than 50% is still a grave concern for ABC...and erosion at 10:30 is not a good sign for renewal since 1.5 million (or more perhaps) couldn't sit through the whole hour.
-Til Death was up to one of its biggest scores in months...I still enjoy this show as a guilty pleasure.
-Erosion for Scrubs wasn't a good sign either, though it's not low enough to worthy cancellation either.

I agree - too much erosion for Supernatural, which is a shame because it is a very good show. I think people may have checked it out after Smallville, saw the blood and the body in the beginning of the epsiode amd decided it wasn't family friendly.
Veronica Mars fans, take note. The CW is taking the show off for 8 weeks in place of its Pussycat Dolls reality show. Then it will be back for five self-contained episodes. More later.
Wait, they're taking it off with 5 episodes left to air!? I thought the second plotline was supposed to be done after 7 episodes (aka with 4 left to air). Maybe that got changed when the episode order was only upped by 7 instead of the usual 9...?
Thanks for the info, Marc! We knew it was going on hiatus without reruns for either Pussycat Dolls or Hidden Palms. I suppose this means when OTH goes on its next hiatus (right around the Top Model Cycle 8 premiere), Hidden Palms will get that spot for its run, then OTH will come back?

Sounds like the CW is giving Veronica Mars the kiss of death - too bad I actually like that show.
Gee, are you going to ask Marc what his VM comment has to do with the ratings for thurs 1/18/07?

Yes. Rob Thomas said in an interview a while back that the middle arc was reduced from 7 to 6 episodes.

Ah. Well then, color me less alarmed. Still don't know how I feel about the whole stand-alone thing... but if it boosts Veronica's numbers at the end of the season to give it a slightly better chance of renewal... I'm game.

I'm not sure if the erosion at 10:30 for Men In Trees is because people couldn't sit through it. I think it may be more a result of Grey's Anatomy inflating the ratings for the first half-hour by running over 10:00pm. I find MIT to be an enjoyable hour of television. Hopefully, others will too, over time.
CSI was very good last night (and the preview for next week looks even better!!!). I liked Keppler, and it looks as if they want to keep him, since they have a website for him: www.whoiskeppler.com But, I want Grissom back soon!!!!!!
Also, last night was my first time watching Shark. It was VERY good also. I think I will have to add it to my weekly viewing schedule.
OK Marc, Obviously 30 Rock has problems. But you've stumped me on this one. What was so "inside" about Liz's dating situation or Jack and Kenneth's job switch?
Who was this too "inside" for? People who have never dated? People who have never worked? Or people who have never heard of Deal Or No Deal?

Totally agree. Last night's 30 Rock was one of its MOST accessible. Liz being an unconfident woman (about her looks and dating prospects anyway) finally lands a guy who seems like Mr. Right and they figure out they're distantly related!?
The "Bottoms-Up Day" thing is just like any other company's special day (i.e. bring your daughter to work day)... and it provided that hilarious line that only Baldwin could've pulled off without sounding really lame (I speak, of course, of the "Kenneth, I'm going to be your bottom. And I want you to ride me hard" or however it went...) And the GOLD CASE tag was just awesome.
The plotline with Tracy was just strange. It didn't seem to be "inside" the industry, except in the way that character's personality is so unreal.

This describes exactly why my family doesn't watch Supernatural.
I did catch a little of Smallville last night and the Justice League angle does make it more interesting (and probably provides spinoff opportunities too).
I thought 30 Rock last night was its best effort yet. The retention is a tad worrisome but the timeslot is the toughest in Net TV...
Too inside.. I assumed Marc was referring to all the "jokes" about pilots and which shows to pick up and the on going "Gold Case" show joke.... probably went over a lot of peoples heads....
