Travis said that the Reaper really sux, so it may not be too good of a show. But now a days the quality of a show isn't determined by the quality of the show anymore, but more by the looks of the people on the show. If the Reaper has some hot cast member I am it will do well lol.

I also only read a script... a script that can probably be revised. Even though it's usually a good indication, casting/direction/etc has so much to do with what makes a TV pilot good, let alone a show. So, just take my opinion (again, it was with high expectations) with a grain of salt.

Marc or Travis,

If they bring SV back would it not be smart to transform it into JL over its final season? Then next season introduce JL as a new series.

Something else, why not transform SV into Metropolis and after SV ends bring on Metropolis with a whole new cast? Seems either option offers a potential synergy which could brige SV to a spin-off.

Not the kind of thing done normally on network TV but CW has to think out of the box.

It looks like VM has more of a chance of coming back then M.B thinks Wink

http://neptunesite.com/ostroff0107.htm

"Ostroff confirmed that the new stand-alone format for the final five episodes is not “an admission that the show is in a little more trouble” or that the network is “not happy with the numbers.” In fact, Ostroff repeatedly told reporters that the network has “been really happy with the quality” and that “the numbers have been better than they ever were in the history of the series."

and

"On a final note, Ostroff confirmed the possibility of pairing the new Kevin Williamson drama Hidden Palms with Veronica Mars in the future. The pairing was discussed due to the similarities between the shows, since both are young serialized shows with a mystery and horror element to it."

Veronica Mars is like Ostroff's baby. Wonder if the CW would keep all their 9:00 dramas?

As much as I like VM and think the show is great. I do believe the only reason it's still on the Air is by Dawn's Favoritism.

Dawn loves VM, remember Warner is a 50-50 partner in this and from what I heard not everyone wanted to bring VM back this season. It was Dawn who pushed them to bring it back. Favors can not run a network, nor do I think it's fair.

I would think VM not getting a full season order, is enough to say the show won't be back.

You can't blame the network if it decides to cancel Veronica Mars. After three seasons enough viewers just won't find it.

I say the renew Veronica Mars for 13 episodes and use it as a midseason replacement. And if it doesn't fit into the schedule they can always burn it off during the summer. There are enough die hard fans that it would likely pull in some good summer numbers.

Marc, I just saw this at tvguide.com and wanted to get your thoughts. At the TCA event last week, a fan (through Ausiello) asked Eric Kripke (the creator/producer of Supernatural) whether the show would be back for a third season. Ausiello reported:

Your guess is as good as Kripke's. When I spoke with him, he put the show's chances at "solidly, solidly 50-50," then offered his "honest attitude," which, frankly, was the last thing I expected from anyone at press tour. "I wish we had a million to a half-million more viewers," he admitted. "I think those X-Files fans are out there. We're just struggling to get the word out that there's an X-Files-quality show on the CW. And it's hard to get the viewers who are not watching Grey's Anatomy or CSI. We're sort of the odd duck on the network, so we're trying to let people know that there's a hard, sci-fi-genre show that just happens to be on the CW." Should the show get picked up for a third season, Kripke already has an arc story in mind to scare up those X-philes he wants so badly. "We keep talking over and over about how there's a war that's about to begin between demons and humans, and things keep feeling like they're going to escalate higher and higher," he observed. "In the season finale of Season 2, definitively, the war begins, and the boys spend much of Season 3 scrambling, with things getting worse and worse."

So to this fan of the show, Season 3 (and the balance of Season 2) sound amazing, but does Kripke's answer change your opinion that the show will be back? I hope it doesn't, of course, and I pretty much feel like you that the show is going to be back, but I would like some reassurrance from you in light of this answer.

Thanks, Marc.

What Kripke meant was that only half a season is shown so far, and the numbers dropped from the first season. Although Kripke said that if the numbers doesn't rise above 4 million consistantly then the show probably won't be able to go over four or five seasons. What Kripke originally planned was to end Supernatural at the 7th Season, and with the ratings that Supernatural got during Season 1, it was definitely possible. But with the newer ratings, he isn't sure if the show will last. And if the CW continues with the horrible new shows, I am not sure if the network will last.
