Sad about the big drop off in viewers for Supernatural, but I'm happy that the ratings average is going up instead of down since they came back from hiatus.

Yeah - the ratings drop off is a shame. It was a good episode, but not great. Hopefully people will check out next weeks episode because it looks amazing.

Men in Trees did improve from last week. This is Trees best retention I think yet after Grey's. It is slowly finding it's audience and is a moderate player for ABC. This is great, I love how more people are discovering the show.

I'm certainly thrilled for Smallville. Put those two averages together and that's 5.25 million for SV last night. The highest yet. I hope it picks up and stays around there more. It would be nice to see a show on the CW have 5 million viewers without Tyra Banks being in it.

Supernatural was good last night, but I am disappointed it wasn't higher. It was higher rated than last week and a handful of episodes before the hiatus, so it's still going up.

has anyone heard anything about when fox will begin episodes of driven and that show with rob courdry? just wondering. thanks!

Can't remember exact date for Rod Corddry's show... I think it's sometime in March.

DRIVE premieres Sunday, April 15th @ 8pm with a 2-hour premiere event, then moves to its regular timeslot the next night on Monday, April 16th @ 8pm.

Cannot. Wait.

For retention, shouldnt you be comparing MIT to Grey's last half hour vs Grey's average?

Good news MIT fans! Last night MIT improved on last week's ratings over of Grey's Anatomy... even though Grey's was weaker! It improved in both Households and 18-49 ratings... meaning retention will be even better!

Last Week:
Greys: 14.7 HH, 9.3 A18-49, 23 million viewers
MIT: 6.9 HH, 3.4 A18-49, 10 million viewers
Retention: 47% HH, 37% A18-49, 43% viewers

This Week:
Greys: 14.1 HH, 8.7 A18-49, 21.9 million viewers
MIT: 7.3 HH, 3.7 A18-49, 10.7 million viewers
Retention: 52% HH, 43% A18-49, 49% viewers

Still plenty of improving to do... but a very positive sign!

The only differences this week was that Shark was new out of a CSI original (repeat last week, out of a CSI repeat), and ER was a repeat (new last week).

*now that I see the half-hour breakdown, the 10:30pm dropoff is still concerning...

WHERE WAS FOX'S 82 MILLION PEOPLE LAST NIGHT??? Wink

My immediate observations...

-Wow, nice job Smallville! I'm sure the ink is still wet for 07-08 contracts! Too much Supernatural erosion though.

-The Office and Earl were down almost 20% from their 18-49 finishes last week, but still great.

-Men In Trees retention of less than 50% is still a grave concern for ABC...and erosion at 10:30 is not a good sign for renewal since 1.5 million (or more perhaps) couldn't sit through the whole hour.

-Til Death was up to one of its biggest scores in months...I still enjoy this show as a guilty pleasure.

-Erosion for Scrubs wasn't a good sign either, though it's not low enough to worthy cancellation either.

Also, retention of only 64% for Scrubs, out of The Office, is concerning too. (4.5 to 2.9) I mean I know young people aren't generally fans of musicals but it was clever.

Despite their struggles, NBC has at least hinted that Scrubs and 30 Rock will be back next season. So they are not likely to be moved to a lower profile time slot. Their number are indeed disappointing though and NBC can of course rethink. Its a shame because all four comedies on NBC are hitting crative high points in recent weeks. I was afraid it would happen as I believe sine Scrubs moved to 9 p.m. thisis the first time it has faced new episodes of both CSI and Grey's.

Does anyone else find it pathetic that a rerun of Til Death pulled in more viewers on Fox than an original episode of 30 Rock? NBC needs to do something with ER's lead-in, or ER's numbers will fall big time during February sweeps. Why not put 1 vs. 100 in the 9 to 10 slot on Thursdays? It would probably pull in better numbers than the two sitcoms they have there now and provide some sort of counter programming to CSI and Grey's Anatomy.

Scrubs and 30 Rock can be burned off on Friday nights in 1 vs. 100's old time slot.

What do you expect after TV biggest show? I think what Trees has is it's loyal audience from Friday's but has not garnered enough new audience. I just hope it start picking up more and more viewers. I can see ABC renewing Trees but moving it to another night next fall.

Last night's episode of Shark was really good. Not sure why it loses so much of CSI's audience. James Woods is compelling as the hot shot defense attorney turned prosecutor and plays off Jeri Ryan's DA character very well.

We all need to give up on 30 Rock. I have been saying all season that the show is too "inside." Well, if you saw lat night's episode you know what I mean.

Veronica Mars fans, take note. The CW is taking the show off for 8 weeks in place of its Pussycat Dolls reality show. Then it will be back for five self-contained episodes. More later.

We just had an 8-week pre-emption for VM. And now another one? And only 20 episodes this season?

Clearly VM is pretty much at the end of its loop. Frowner
