It's nice to hear from Ostroff herself that it isn't entirely out of the question that 7th could return for another year. "Never Say Never". Sunday night is hard, and in the times that Reba and 7th air, they are opposite some big, family friendly heavy hitters(America's Funniest Home Videos and Extreme Makeover:Home Edition), not to mention The Simpsons and The Amazing Race. Since the two's pairing, Sunday nights has been a pretty shining night for the network. Everybody Hates Chris and the other comedies couldn't do it, but Reba and 7th have. It's a good family night that has held it's own against ABC's bigger rated family offerings. I can't see anything new doing as well(or better)in that slot. They would be wise to keep 7th for a 12th and final year, and Reba too, until they actually have something they know will work.

These are along the lines of some from the past that didn't fall into the above categories... Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, John Doe, The Flash, Tru Calling, Firefly, All of the Star Trek series... these are not part of those genres as listed.
And now we have also have a few cable ones such as The 4400 and The Dead Zone which I think would match that description.
I thought everyone could use a good laugh. This was posted at the site perezhilton.com:
"The fallout from Isaiah Washinton's continued inappropriate behavior is hitting ABC where it hurts the most - in the ratings.
Up until this week, Grey's Anatomy had a dominating lead against every competing show in their timeslot.
However, last night's episode saw CBS's former powerhouse, CSI, trail Grey's by only 611,000 viewers, according to the Nielsen ratings.
Additionally, CSI beat Grey's to become the #1 program of the night among key men.
As ABC continues to vacillate, advertisers will become wary of putting commercials on the now tainted Grey's Anatomy show.
No word yet on when the network will announce Washington's fate. They've said they are "addressing" his hatred and lies." "
While I'm not supporting what Isaiah said, all of us who come here and look at the numbers eash week know that this is not really affecting Grey's ratings. Grey's and CSI have been neck-and-neck all season, wtih CSI beting Grey's a couple of times. To say that the ratings are suffering is just laughable.
Also, Grey's is a primarily female-oriented show, so it is no surprise that CSI beat Grey's with men. I'm sure it does that most of the time.
I don't want to bring politics into this forum, I just couldn't let this one go by without everyone laughing about it! I'm gay myself, but I wouldn't twist the truth to get people to support my "agenda." His is to get ABC to fire Isaiah.
Boy, talk about twisting numbers. Last night was the first time a Grey's original beat a CSI original (in total viewers) since Deal or No Deal left the timeslot. CSI has always skewed male, so that comment was a load of crap. Thanks for the laugh!
Let's just switch on the English/EmbattledNetworkhead-ese translator, shall we?
quote:
Ostroff replies, "Gilmore Girls is a show we're really proud of. It consistently comes in second in 18-34. And we are definitely talking to them.
Translation: They have to get ratings up and costs down.
quote:
As for Veronica Mars—it's funny because I feel like I've answered that question every year. It's still on the air and I'm still here.
Translation: When VM goes down, I could end up going with it. So I hope it doesn't go down.
quote:
Veronica is a show we are proud of, and I have to say that all your support for that show has meant the world,
Translation: Thanks for all the sucking up in print, guys--pity it didn't work.
quote:
and hopefully we'll have good things to talk about.
Translation: Because we sure don't have any good news to talk about now.
quote:
Veronica Mars has actually had its best numbers ever,
Translation: In the beginning of this season, and it's been downhill ever since, but I don't have to mention that.
quote:
and Tuesday night has definitely been a good move for the show."
Translation: If only it had been good for our Tuesday nights.
quote:
Veronica Mars will go on hiatus and then come back with five stand-alone episodes.
Does anybody really need a translation for that?
quote:
When asked why VM is moving away from serialized stories, and whether that means the show is in trouble, Ostroff replies, "Absolutely not.
Translation: Why do you ask me questions you know I can't answer honestly?
quote:
We've been really happy with the show and the numbers are better than they ever were.
Translation: I'm a liar. It's one of my job qualifications.
quote:
[The reason for the format change] is to experiment and to make it close-ended, so people aren't afraid to come in...that's really what's motivating it."
quote:
Eek! A reporter just asked about Gilmore Girls' "creative downtick" (gaaah!)
Translation: The transcriber is choking on something! Does anyone know the Heimlich?
quote:
this season, and how Ostroff feels about it. Her answer: "Gilmore Girls has been on the air seven years, and any show that's on for that period of time creatively has its ups and downs.
Translation: And do I really have to tell you which way it's going now?
quote:
Clearly with the loss of Amy, we wanted to be able to maintain the quality of the show.
Translation: I'll get that snarky backstabbing beeyotch if it's the last thing I do. How appropriate her initials spell the name of a venomous snake. Watch your back, ASP!
quote:
David Rosenthal was one of Amy's top lieutenants, and was actually handpicked by Amy.
Translation: Her final petty act of revenge upon us for not greenlighting that Jess spinoff.
quote:
The first half of the season was rocky as David found his way, and he was painted into a corner by the end of last season, but I think the second half of the season is much stronger and the audience will be pleasantly surprised."
Translation: We ordered him to get Lorelei and Luke back together, but it's probably too late. We just hope that after the throbbing headache that was the first half of the season, the audience will be relieved to merely feel slightly numb instead.
quote:
O.C. fans—hope you're sitting down. The CW is not picking up The O.C. "Obviously, it came up," Ostroff says of the possibility of the move, "but we really didn't think it made sense for us for several reasons. And we're very excited about Josh [Schwartz]'s new show."
Translation: We may be the least successful network in television history, but we're not CRAZY.
quote:
Ostroff, on whether 7th Heaven will end this year: "One thing I've learned is to never say never. Brenda has done a great job with the show. The cast has been reinvigorated, so I never say never."
Translation: If we can keep costs down, sure. Why not? We're the CW. Pointless drawn-out crap is our special niche.
Please let this be the last time anything from Perez Hilton is ever posted on this site.

And Smallville and Supernatural are one of these that still exist on the ACTUAL television. An unoriginal television. And I`m referring about Thursdays nights shows, of curse there is anothers shows, like Heroes, The Dead Zone, The 4400, as you said, but the true is they`re minority. I was just tryng to say: Conforming the time, these shows become rare. I mean, 50% of the schedule is made by the same kind of shows, most, criminal and medical dramas and of curse, the worst ones, reality shows. Criminal and medical are not the problem, the problem is that for one genre there is ten shows with the same point.

Perez knows nothing about ratings. He is simply a fan to the flames, demanding what is not his to demand because his blog has a large audience. His opinion reigns supreme. It is his blog and he has a right to say whatever he wants, of course... but it would be nice if he got the facts straight on this matter (really... CSI consistently beats Grey's in the male demo). Even if I do agree with him that this reopening of the F-bomb issue since the Golden Globes has done more harm to the show's profile than good. I don't believe this is a case of "no such thing as bad publicity".

I think Perez may be referring to the gay male demo of Grey's Anatomy. Because I'm positive that all those men jumped ship to CSI at the first opportunity.
I thought that Shark had an outstanding episode last night. I'm glad that it did so well in the ratings. There is a strong cast in place, and I would expect that the audience for this show will continue to grow.
This would get us more information to help us in the P.I. Feedback Game. The public relations sites for ABC and NBC also use the username/password protocol but most of their information is free for the public to view.
