Grey's will still be here for a long while. ABC is still courting female viewers, and among female viewers this show is still tops. Yes it's down dramatically, but it used to be *HUGE* Just because it's not gigantic like it used to be doesn't imply it's not still extrememly valuable to this network. This show has years and years left in it.

GA has nowhere to go. At least the traditional soaps have a lot more characters they can use, here we have few characters and no one really cares who sleeps with who anymore. And the medical part seems to be less and less interesting. Maybe it will return in fall with good numbers but next spring i doubt it will get above 13-14 milllion

That was hardly a series low for Lost. In addition it was the only ABC show to hold it's demo #s from last week.

Actually, it was a series low.
The demos are still good though.

Let me say, that for someone who thinks CBS needs to axe several of it's aging, declining procedurals, I am impressed with the original CSI. As for CSI:NY, Cold Case, Shark: AXE THEM! And Without A Trace and Criminal Minds are overrated.

However, CSI is doing quite well, and is a reliable tentpole for CBS on this night.

Oop... my bad. I was looking only at demo.

The show is still in good shape, though... a 4.8 in the demo outweighs the total viewership numbers. This is definately a show that ABC wants to skew really, really young.

He did bash 30 Rock with that Sopranos (I think) quote. The fact is that bashing the show will not make it go away, and it's been bashed almost every week since it started.

I like how The CW renews Supernatural with 2.53 million and a 1.0 demo and Reaper might get canceled with 2.51 million and a 1.1 demo. Adding to the fire is the fact that Supernatural had Smallville as a lead-in and Reaper had the practically non-existing Beauty and the Geek. Talk about fairness...

I still like Betty but clearly it can only run 3, 4 seasons tops and the novelty has obviously worn off for most people. I also miss having Wilhemina and Mark in the office and this little side story with them and Christina as well as Willie's crazy sister isn't working for me. And it has left Amanda with nothing to do but be this over the top charicature.
.

This show and MNIE switched up the dynamic too much in my opinion. The shows aren't even 2 or 3 years old, respectively and they did away with the formula that worked. UB needs to have the characters interact more at the office, and with her family. MNIE needs to go back to the list.

But see here's the issue that noone seems to be addressing. If the networks get rid of the shows that are still popular but slipping what do they replace them with? Nothing from this past fall's slate has broken out so its very risky to just start slashing shows expecting the next breakout hit. Realistically out of 30 new shows maybe 1 or 2 will breakout and maybe another 3 or 4 will survive. So yes obviously theres some concern about Betty, Greys, lost, CSI etc. but in this day and age, with increased cable competition and DVRS, what can we really expect? Across the board almost every show on network TV is down.

Lets remember the cr*p that was on the air during the strike and remind ourselves that this is the alternative

Both shows should be renwed. Of course that's beacause CW is in a horrible state

Good point. Also, see what Reaper did in this timeslot a few weeks ago with:

Leave it to CW to sabotage one of their only new shows with growth potential.

CBS’ still potent Survivor: Micronesia won the 8 p.m. hour, with 12.53 million viewers and a 4.0 rating/12 share among adults 18-49.
I was surprised (and a bit disgusted) at James' injury. Oh well, he needs his hand.

ABC-bound Scrubs (Viewers: #4, 5.91 million; A18-49: #2, 2.9/ 8), which really needs to end at this point
As much as I like it, I agree that its days are numbered.

Yesterday's Winners: The Office (NBC)

The Office (Viewers: #3, 7.67 million; A18-49: #3, 3.9/10)

Worth noting for The Office was growth out of Scrubs of 1.76 million viewers and a hefty 34 percent among adults 18-49.
Bias, anyone?
