I'm a librarian too and Sue Grafton and Janet Evanovich are the most popular mystery authors here. I wonder if someone will ever make those into a series?
I always felt like Sue Grafton's novels would make for a great tv series, or a series of tv movies!
I've thought this for about 10 years now, and at that time I thought Jamie Lee Curtis would have been great as Kinsey Millhone -- she's probably too old now, but she proved that she could play such a role in True Lies. Any ideas on who would be a good lead in that?

Yeah i've always thought Kinsey Millhone would be a great TV character. I truly don't understand why isn't someone interested in making a series, especially since private detective series are absent these days

So who did you envision when you read the novels? Like I said, I always have envisioned a young Jamie Lee Curtis, but there's gotta be other women that fit that mold these days...

I wouldn't go for a well known actress necessarily. Kyra Sedgwick for example was little known before The Closer. On the other hand Patinkin well well known and he almost ruined CM

Kyra Sedgwick is GREAT in The Closer. But I thought she was well-known, or at least wasn't completely new. She's Kevin Bacon's wife, isn't she? Anyway, that's a great comparison though...

I think it might be Jericho. "Wildly popular" could be referring to the fan campaigns that went on to bring the show back. And "underperforming in the ratings considering the budget" would also fit.

Ha ha, but I've read your weekly posts on this show, pisher and you have no idea what you're talking about.
Dexter (in its original Showtime version) is one of the best shows I've ever seen because it takes the procedural crime drama and notches it up a hundred-fold.
For those watching it on CBS currently, what do you think of it? For those who have already watched the two seasons of it on Showtime, do you agree that it is top-notch? It's no shock to me that it is Showtime's most-watched series of all time.
Time to do some overrating again! You can vote in the 2nd annual overrated-show bracket, entitled the Futile Four. The poll will reset about each week to match up "winners" of each weekly match but ultimately end on April 7 (coincidentally, the same night as the Men's NCAA National Basketball Championship on CBS.)
This week's poll closes on Wednesday, March 12 at 7:00pm eastern.
And, TravisYanan, in your Sunday posts, please provide data for VH1's Sunday lineup (I know I mentioned "Rock of Love 2" this weekend but I forgot to also mention "Scott Baio is 46 & Pregnant" and "My Fair Brady: Maybe Baby?".

Lost is the most dvd'd show of the week (both percentage-wise and total viewers wise) adding 3.7 million viewers over the live airing and about 2 million viewers over the live + same day numbers for a total of 15,438million live + 7day viewers.

Noticeable gains for Lost, Idol, Survivor, SCC, Apprentice, Medium, BOSTON LEGAL, and more.
