Personally, I am shocked The Simpsons is still getting the ratings it does. The show is just a shell of what it what once. When is the their mindless audience going to realize this and walk away. It's been years since there have been quality episodes and some of the current ones are actually atrocious.
I know Marc is always trying to retire King of the Hill, but what about The Simpsons? Enough is enough. We have the good episodes in syndication, why do we need the new crap?
The answer is money of course. It still makes buttloads so who cares about the quality, right. As for King of the Hill, I feel the quality of writing on that show is far superior to The Simpsons these days. Yet, their rating are always lower. Why? Maybe it's because KOTH is CONSTANTLY changes time periods.
The fact that their ratings are still close to The Simpsons should be applauded, since they've been on at 7pm, 7:30pm, 8:30pm back to 7:30pm, back to 8:30. What other show has been through that many changes (each year) and still pulled ANY audience?
But the truth is they do dip after The Simpons. So why keep KOTH on? Of course, the quality of the show is not reason enough. So how about because it makes a profit for the studio through syndication. And that's what it's all about anyway. Not just the ratings. Not just the quality of the show. The bottom line.
So it will be back next year whether Mr. Berman likes it or not.

3.5 in the demos. Of course they'll keep the Simpsons. As long as people are still watching it, it will be there.

I watched this. It was good. quote: Originally posted by Marc Berman: One week earlier, Unhitched debuted with a similarly disappointing 5.77 million viewers and a 2.6/ 6 in the demo.

Wow! Considering the overall drop of their Sunday lineup, Newlyweds building in A18-34 and significantly in Men 18-34 has got to be an encouraging sign. I enjoyed last night's episode quite a bit! On the other hand, the EM:HE and especially OBG drops have to be of concern, with or without the time change...

These are good ratings. Lots of people watched these. quote: Originally posted by Marc Berman: -Ratings Breakdown: ABC won this second Sunday in March in both total viewers and adults 18-49. But week two of non-scripted hours Oprah’s Big Give and Here Come the Newlyweds lost steam. Airing out of a repeat of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Viewers: #1: 12.36 million; A18-49: #1, 4.0/11 at 8 p.m.), Oprah’s Big Give still dominated the 9-10 p.m. time period, with 11.83 million viewers and a 4.1/10 among adults 18-49. Comparably, however, that was down by 3.85 million viewers and 23 percent among adults 18-49 from it’s week-ago series-opener (Viewers: 15.68 million; A18-49: 5.3/13 on March 2, 2008).
Here Come the Newlyweds followed with an also dominant 8.91 million viewers and a 3.6/ 9 among adults 18-49 -- down by 1.10 million viewers and 12 percent in the demo from its debut from one week earlier (Viewers: 10.01 million; A18-49: 4.1/11 on March 2).

It is a real shame that this first rate comedy is going unnoticed. Last night's episode was very funny. Crossbow hunting accident with Dad, the way the daughter talks back to her mother, and the way that 'aptitude tests' get obsessed over. All very good send ups on the real world.

quote: 20 years old or not, repeats or not for Simpsons to be beaten by a FG repeat is embarassing
And by that standard, how embarassed should Big Brother be? FG had the younger audience pretty much to itself. Repeats of old-skewing shows, and repeats of CW sitcoms aimed at the African American audiences. Where else were they going to go? The Simpsons anchored FOX's Sunday night, as it has been doing for a very long time now. And for all the whining about how much it's declined, The Simpsons is still better and funnier than most of the overpriced low-rated pablum that people defend here. And I still won't shed a tear when it's canceled. 5-10 years from now.

No co-workers or nutty neighbors exist. The closest they have is the high school princial, but you are welcome to keep watching your CBS reruns for the 4th or 5th time around hoping that you can finally solve that murder mystery before they do.

Don't worry, I will. They are at least 4 or 5 times more entertaining than AiA. AiA might do better had it originated on "The N"

Crap, I forgot Aliens was on last night. I wish the show would of done better in the ratings. Hopefully the CW at least lets it finish its run. What else could they air? (Aliens did improve from last week though) I think the problem with FOX's line-up is people dont know if it's new or a repeat. Last week on a NEW episode of Family Guy it had the same ratings it did as this week's REPEAT episode. I think FOX should just air repeats until all of the animated comedies have new episodes ready. (Save Unhitched from being cancelled too...with such a weak viewership of FG, it doesnt help Unhitched)

quote: So what do you think of HBO's latest pickup? It's...interesting to say the least (I'm a librarian, and the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books do go out- but I don't know if it'll translate well to TV.
It will be interesting. These novels are popular, but not as popular as the Patterson novels that the Women's Murder Club is based off of. I'm a librarian too and Sue Grafton and Janet Evanovich are the most popular mystery authors here. I wonder if someone will ever make those into a series?

I always felt like Sue Grafton's novels would make for a great tv series, or a series of tv movies!
