Week 2 for V will be interesting. ABC shows tend to take a large drop in the ratings their second week out.

Melrose Place's ratings are very low. I'm not sure Heather Locklear can save it.

If FOX follows through with X-Factor, I think they will program it in the fall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. SYTYCD will be programmed back in the summer where I think it will still be a decent summer option. SYTYCD was mainly programmed in the fall to give Glee a compatible lead in.

And despite V's huge start, NCIS still kept above 19 mil. and 4.0 demo. Go, NCIS! Big Grin

FYI...just ABC needs, another dance competition.

-Let’s Dance on ABC:
ABC has announced a new dance competition with a comedic twist called Let’s Dance, which will feature “stars” competing for charity as they honor some of the most famous movie, musical and pop video routines of all time. It premieres Monday, Nov. 23 with a 90-minute installment at 9:30 p.m. ET following the ninth season-finale of lead-in Dancing With the Stars. Additional episodes will air in the Monday 9 p.m. hour through Dec. 14, with the finale on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. ET. Comedian and reality star Kathy Griffin hosts.

NCIS isn't going anywhere. But V is. Wink

I think V will drop about 25 percent next week.

With Kathy Griffin hosting, I will try it. (I haven't watched any of the other dance competitions.)

Well--

Week two of NBC’s competing Bionic Woman finished second among adults 18-49 (4.0/10) and third in total viewers (10.94), but the losses were more dramatic. Compared to its debut one week earlier (Viewers: 13.91 million; A18-49: 5.7/14 on Sept. 26), Bionic Woman was down by 2.97 million viewers and 30 percent in the demo. This is still, however, a vast improvement over year-ago occupant The Biggest Loser (Viewers: 7.15 million; A18-49: 3.0/ 7, on Oct. 4, 2006). So, yes, it is still promising.

And yes, genre serials are very tough to predict. Wink

I will be interested to see how V does over the next three weeks before they go on their break (which is either going to be a blessing-they can hype it all over again- or a curse-they'll lose all their momentum). 25% seems a bit high though..I'd think more in the 15%-20% level (which would mean it would be in the 11.5 million range or thereabouts)..

Bionic Woman had substantially higher ratings, rose on the half-hour, and still fell 30% in the demo the week after its premiere, losing almost three million viewers.

So 25% seems optimistic, but you never know. Maybe Michelle Bachmann will call for viewing parties all across the nation. Tea will be served.

I think ABC is smart in making this a limited episode series. I think it can sustain itself for a few episodes, but it would get old fast. Parodies and skits is different than trying to learn how to dance like on DWTS.

I think this is a great scheduling suggestion. With DWTS being so independent in their audience, they really don't need a lead in for their results show.

As I wrote in the ABC thread, it is a good scheduling move and I think ABC will generate a lot of interest in this interview.
