-Yesterday’s Winners: 60 Minutes (CBS), Pre-Season Football (NBC)
-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Dateline (NBC), The Daytime Emmy Awards Live Red Carpet Special (CW), There Goes the Neighborhood (CBS), Shark Tank (ABC), Defying Gravity (ABC)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: NBC took control of this final Sunday in August, with the Pre-Season Football match-up between Chicago and Denver at an estimated 9.91 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/ 9 share among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m. Results for any live sporting event are, once again, approximate. Here is the half-hour breakdown:
Pre-Season Football: Chicago vs. Denver (NBC) 8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.48 million (#1), A18-49: 2.8/ 9 (#1) 8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 10.42 million (#1), A18-49: 3.4/ 9 (#1) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 11.21 million (#1), A18-49: 3.7/10 (#1) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 10.61 million (#1), A18-49: 37/10 (#1) 10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.34 million (#1), A18-49: 3.4/ 9 (#1) 10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 8.41 million (#1), A18-49: 3.1/ 9 (#1)
Earlier in the evening on NBC was Dateline at an uneventful (And third place) 5.33 million viewers and a 1.3/ 4 among adults 18-49 from 7-8 p.m.
Last-place The CW, which is about to hand back this night to the affiliates, rose to a season-high Sunday care of The Daytime Emmy Awards Live Red Carpet Special (Viewers: #5, 1.21 million; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 1 from 7-8 p.m.) and The 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards (Viewers: #5, 2.68 million viewers; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 2 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m.). While this was the worst performance to-date for The Daytime Emmy Awards, it was still well above average for The CW.
Take a look at a list of winners:

Truth be known, I do not personally understand why Rachael Ray keeps winning Emmys, do you?
Over at CBS it was a typical summer Sunday as a result of 60 Minutes (Viewers: #1, 942 million; A18-49: #1t, 1.6/ 6), Big Brother (Viewers: #2, 7.41 million; A18-49: #2, 2.6/ 8), recent entry There Goes the Neighborhood (Viewers: #4, 3.91 million; A18-49: #4, 1.2/ 3), which should be titled There Goes the Ratings, and a repeat of relocated Cold Case (Viewers: #2, 5.44 million; A18-49: #2, 1.3/ 3). Needless to say, Jeff may have shot himself in the foot, so to speak.
ABC aired its regular summer Sunday rotation of a repeat of America’s Funniest Home Videos (Viewers: #2, 6.31 million; A18-49: #1t, 1.6/ 6), a repeat of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Viewers: #3, 5.78 million; A18-49: #4, 1.5/ 5), Shark Tank (Viewers: #3, 4.79 million; A18-49: #3, 1.8/ 5) and scripted drama Defying Gravity (Viewers: #3, 2.53 million; A18-49: #3, 0.9/ 3). And Fox capped off the night with repeats of ‘Til Death (Viewers: #4, 2.22 million; A18-49: #4, 0.9/ 3), American Dad (Viewers: #4, 2.40 million; A18-49: #4, 1.0/ 3), two episodes of The Simpsons (Viewers: #4, avg. 4.93 million; A18-49: #3, avg. 2.3/ 7 from 8-9 p.m.), Family Guy (Viewers: #2, 5.24 million; A18-49: #2, 2.5/ 7) and another episode of American Dad (Viewers: #3, 4.43 million; A18-49: #2, 2.0/ 5). Struggling ‘Til Death won’t get much of a boost next season when it airs out of new sitcom Brothers at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
That was probably the most anticipated preseason game of all-time it really felt like a regular season game. The NFL is the most dangerous entity on all of television to be doing this well for a meaningless game.
The CW actually looked like a real network for the first time since they launched. The Emmy people have to be happy with that number because it could've been worse and the fact that people didn't know it was on or had access to it this was actually a solid number.
I'm not sure whether the Daytime Emmys would want to be on the CW again. While the presentation looked more professional (no one sat around banquet tables like years past), the show was rushed (it was obvious they were told to hurry the last hour of the show -- we didn't get to hear B&B say their thank yous at the end!), the Red Carpet hosts looked and sounded lost (Lara Spencer introduced her "longtime friend" Gina Tognoni but, a few minutes beforehand, you could hear Spencer ask Tognoni how to pronounce her last name), and the fact that several big name shows didn't bother showing up (The View, GMA) shows what they think of the show.
the daytime emmys should've been on a real network or hell even a cable network. it did look very rushed but it was still a great presentation. the daytime emmys should stick to sunday nights.

Looks like Shark Tank lost viewers this week, while staying consistent in the demo. For under 5 million viewers, that 1.8 demo is actually pretty good, still nowhere near what ABC would like I'm sure. I'm still not sure if ABC will take the chance of running this on Tuesdays or not. What they should do is air double episodes at 9 and 10pm on Sundays until the 27th and just get it out of the way.
Another good episode of Big Brother last night, even though it was completely predictable. Jeff's only chance will be if he, Jordan, or Michele win it. Jeff and Jordan will of course save him, while Michele would save herself, putting Natalie on the block. With Natalie on the block, Jeff could have a chance. Can't wait to see how it plays out.
I'm surprised CBS is sticking with There Goes The Neighborhood. They should be airing a better repeater at 9pm to help out Cold Case, which is seeing its ratings dragged down lately.

Tyra Banks informative . . . is that a joke? And I don't understand how the ladies of The View could be Emmy worth when all they do is talk all hour, lol. Glad to see Meredith won, though, who is one of the few on that list who deserved to win.
I'm not sure CBS cares that much about CC anymore. A better lead in would help, but it looks like the network dumped CC Sundays at 10 PM to burn off its very likely last season.

I feel sorry for Broncos fans after seeing that offense last night. BRUTAL! Da Bears might go 16-0 now that they have a real quarterback.
CBS Fall Sunday can't come fast enough for them. I wonder what kind of number Three Rivers will get b/c I'm hearing that it could take some audiences away from Desperate Housewives.
As for ABC, I think they should keep Shark Tank around for a summer run or mid-season filler but not on Tuesday Nights before Dancing this fall. ABC should've slotted Hank and Surviving Suburbia in there at 8pm.
Good for The CW and the Daytime Emmys last night. Great presentation and it was great to see them pay tributes to two long-time establishments in Sesame Street and Guiding Light. For the first time in years The Daytime Emmys got a lot of media coverage and was topping search engines.
The latest rumor I'm hearing is that ABC will get the show again next year and will broadcast it in HD. I honestly think it should stay on The CW since they need it more and Sunday Nights.

Given Shark Tank had a stronger lead-in last week, I think it did quite well. (Loser???? Really???) It's also slotted against another reality show that follows a more popular Reality show.
The show deserves a shot on Tuesdays as it's not the type of show that stands a chance at catching on. I think the problem is that there is such a glut of reality out there, many don't realize how fresh this show is in concept.
