Lost just proved why Cashmere Mafia should not air another episode. In a recap show, it got roughly 3.5 million more viewers and 1.3 more in the demo. It's just wasting the Wednesday 10 PM potential. Move Lost repeats there pronto.
Moment of Truth fell. Not surprising since I predicted it a week ago. So much for the over 20 million that was predicted all over this board. Granted, I said it would fall to 15 million, but 17 million isn't too off. It will continue to fall as the season progresses.
As I recall, the Adventures of Old Christine was never a ratings blockbuster. It just got a lot of critical acclaim so CBS stuck with it. I don't expect it to pull the numbers Rules of Engagment or 2 and a Half Men is pulling. Especially if it is going against Idol.
Eli Stone will pull a Cashmere Mafia. Going after Lost will help it the first night and open to respectable ratings, but then it will tank and tank and tank some more. As someone who has seen the pilot, I will say that unless it can pull a considerable Christian audience with all its vision subplots, it's doomed.
No one is talking about how steady Wife Swap is. Granted it's only getting roughly 5.5 million but for a cheap as dirt show with little promotion and basically strike filler going against Idol, it's respectable. It did better than Old Christine and surely ABC has to be happy about that.
CW is just sad. Crowned should not be airing and OTH can not repeat well. Less than one million? Pathetic. Where is Farmer Wants a Wife? It can't do worse than Crowned.
Law and Order x3 saves NBC. I can't wait until Blue Blood is paired up with one of them. Should make for awesome must see TV. Now if only Played or Be Played could join them. That would be a good block. Is NBC listening? Probably not.
I haven't seen the pilot, but from the commercials I think Eli Stone will have a broad appeal to a fairly neglected portion of the viewing public.
Whiny narcissists? I wouldn't call them a neglected portion of the viewing public. They get more shows per capita than any other group I can think of. But that's not so much a matter of the networks consciously trying to reach that demographic, as much as it is that the people pitching dramedies these days fall disproportionately within it.
I've seen the same commercials, and they've done an admirable job warning anyone with a brain to avoid this show religiously.

I think it is going to be very popular overall, but I'm not sure about how it will do in the demo.
Why on earth would you think that? It'll do better with the demo than the overall audience, but that's probably not saying very much.
I have clearly said all along, and reiterated several times,
Multiple quotes to show what you said does not address the fact that you were talking about a different subject than everyone else and that there is no 'bet' to claim victory over.
I don't understand how you can draw that conclusion, or how I can make it any more obvious for you. So let's try this -- you are saying the following, from your quote just a few posts ago:

And I am telling you that I am NOT talking about just the premiere -- I AM saying that LOST will beat the CSI reruns every week that it is on. Granted, it will do bigger numbers in tonight's premiere, but each episode will do enough to beat CSI's reruns, which was the topic.
Now, it's not like I asked you for money or anything -- I thought we had a friendly bet over whether my above assertion (and your denial), which one would be correct. If you don't care to continue to debate me on that, that's fine with me.

That was the final episode of Crowned. I'd like to know where Farmer Wants a Wife is as well. Farmers tend to have lots of money (don't let anyone tell you otherwise) so this show has the potential to be similar to Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire or The Bachelor.
Well that's good news for the CW. Putting almost anything on in its place will increase its ratings in that timeslot. Do you know what is replacing Crowned on the schedule?

Dont confuse last nights LOST repeat with a regular repeat perfomance. Last year, in the second week, The LOST repeat (Wed 9pm) only drew 4.9 million viewers. The Following week, it got 5.3 million viewers. Both weeks, the Repeat only got about a 2 in the Demo rating.
The repeat airings must have been pulled after that because I don't see any other repeat entries for it.

It did a smidge better than Power of 10 in the slot, but it was not "Missed" as much as LOST ws missed.
It will be interesting to see how BBT Does when it airs on a Wednesday within a couple of weeks. I don't expect anything great, but will it hit 6 million? Or at least average above 5 mill?
Won't Big Brother be on Wednesday starting like next week? Or is it two weeks yet?
The CW does have Farmer... listed as "Coming Soon" on their web site.

No idea what will be relacing Crowned. I thought it would was ANTM, but looking at the midseason schedule...they do not mention ANTM until Feb. 20th, so who knows.
Peace!

No such 'bet' exists on any level. As I said, feel free to provide any quote from me that engages you on the subject of the premiere or even on the subject of the overall season. In looking back at the thread, the closest statement I made on the subject was that I was not so sure that Lost could stay above CSI repeats in the viewer number after the first few weeks. Since that is all I said, that is all you can claim I predicted. meanwhile, last I recall from that thread, you were still confused about what ratings the rest of us talk about here every day. You were trying to insert in Live+7 as some sort of standard that we must all be talking about. Several people tried to get you to understand the difference between total DVR viewers and simply adding that number of viewers to the overnight total. You never acknowledged that you were adding wrong or that everyone else here talks about the overnight numbers nere when making 'predictions'.

Two weeks.
Lost will be big tonight... should easily beat CSI.

It aired a few more repeats after that to the tune of around 3 to 4 million. Not strong at all. I would be surprised if it were able to keep up the strong repeat numbers. If that's the case, then plug in Greys Anatomy repeats for a decent 7 million.

2 weeks of America's Next Top Model 'highlights' followed by the premiere of CW's #1 show: America's Next Top Model.
I find it interesting that Criminal Intent actually beat Criminal Minds. A lot of that was the lead-in, sure, but it still won at 9:30. You can blame the fact that fewer people saw the ep on USA and thus CI was "new," but I wonder why nobody was interested in this show while on USA. It's not like USA is completely invisible. I had thought CI was fairly likely to be one-and-done on USA, but these rerun numbers make another renewal seem highly plausible. My advice? Dump Noth and do a 15-16 ep season with just D'Onofrio. That's about the season length of the other USA original series.
And a DOND rerun getting 9.8 million against Idol? Pretty good. I mean, that's only 1-2 million shy of what the NCIS reruns get against Idol, and I would think there'd be a lot more audience crossover with DOND. The return of the Million Dollar Mission during sweeps could be huge.
