Moment of Truth will likely decline in the finals, as Idol ran until 9:01pm.
I *think* that's a good result for the Lost rerun (it's certainly a stable one throughout two hours of varying competition). But I'm not sure, given it's a battle of last-minute scheduling versus 8 months of being off the air and hype. Clearly tonight's clip show and original episode will be higher rated.
It would be interesting to see how MOMENT would do away from IDOL.
I didn't know part of LOST's premier was a clip show tonight.
Anyone predicting a HUGE drop off for ELI STONE when it follows LOST tonight? The show sounds like takes the riffs from PUSHING DASIES and VIVA MCLAUGHLIN and grafts it onto a legal show...how could it not fail?
Yeah, the 8pm hour is a clip show, then there's a original episode from 9-10:02pm (according to my FauxVo).
Obviously Moment is not ready to be away from Idol yet, though (IIRC) it only has one more post-Idol airing. 5th Grader help up much better last season in its secong post-Idol airing (though that was the next day, and only for half an hour... so perhaps tough to compare so simplistically).
I know that Eli Stone has been reshot and has a couple recast characters since the original pilot. I know the ads have played up a sense of whimsy and fantasy like that of Pushing Daisies, but I don't believe it's nearly that inventive. It really is a lot like Ally McBeal (though I don't think that Eli is as divisive a character as Ally... and you know where all of the hallucinations are coming from). Not sure where the Viva Laughlin comparisons are coming from... just because it has George Michael singing in the pilot doesn't make it a musical, does it (and it's not like the show is keeping him on retainer for the entire series a la Ally's Vonda Shepard).
All that said, I don't see a ton of crossover from Lost to Eli Stone. ABC may be thinking that Eli will appeal to men more than women since it has a male lead, and thus Lost is the best lead-in they have int heir arsenal... but Lost is probably just the best lead-in left to ABC at the moment. As with any post-Lost show, there's gonna be a ton of drop-off. It's just not a show that the viewers stick around after.

I haven't seen the pilot, but from the commercials I think Eli Stone will have a broad appeal to a fairly neglected portion of the viewing public. I think it is going to be very popular overall, but I'm not sure about how it will do in the demo.

Looks like MOT held pretty decent in it's second week. The true test will be week 3. More erosion and it won't look good for the show.
Must admit AI has been a little boring for the audition round. It seems to be dragging more this year than in the past. Must admit, Paula has been a little screwy but that's why we love her. Can't wait for Hollywood week. Seem to think there's gonna be a lot more drama this time around.
I think the Lost numbers were really great. That show always repeats bad. I think with the lack of new episodes this sweeps, Lost looks like it will be bug numbers. I bet the premiere will get 18-20 mil viewers and probably settle to 15 and beat CSI on a consistent basis, especially in the demo. The time is close when the oldie's realized they watched the same episode 5 times.
Also looking forward to Eli Stone. I think the numbers will be 11-13 million and we'll see after that. It looks like a fun quirky show.
Lost was flat throughout, but showed considereable demo strength vs. the repeats on other networks.
I just noticed... if Lost can keep those repeat numbers up when it airs repeats Thursdays at 8pm, leading into originals at 9pm... it'll be doing better in the demo than Ugly Betty!

It will look like Samantha Who? without DwtS.

there will be a smaller dropoff than we usually see in that timeslot. Lost isn't as big a draw as Grey's Anatomy and Eli Stone is more likely to draw viewers than any of the other shows impailed by that timeslot this year.
AI is bleeding. 22.5 million is still excelent but the decline is quick. MOT held good but it doesn't look to be a huge hit now. LOST's repeat didn't do amazing, but that number will be double today. 16-17 million i guess tonight.
