I guess they want another night of all-original Thursday programming...
Though I am surprised, because I thought it was a good touch to have the Grey's episode air into a repeat of the first part of the twister plot on DH, since you know it's going to be well-rated on Sunday (so I also understand moving Cashmere to post-DH for the preview airing, with the added bonus that the next airing is only 3 days later instead of 6).
But basically this is ABC's McPherson flipping NBC's Silverman the bird, isn't it

Why is ABC wasting their last episode on Grey's Anatomy on Big Shots?
Good to see NBC is giving ER a decent (for NBC anyway) lead-in for what may be its last 3 episodes.

As technical as I am with anything else, I cannot find my CC button on the TV remote. (I know because I've tried to find it while watching some BBC programs.) One day I'll figure it out -
In the meantime, I'll probably just try and catch the episode online after Christmas so I'll be in sync with their timeframe.

They broadcast it in the middle of the night in chicago and then the whole episode was unwatchable because for some reason, the background music and sounds were playing but none of the voices could be heard. (This happens once in awhile on the HD side of town, but usually somebody is awake to fix it after a few minutes.) I suppose if I could read lips, it would have been OK, but unfortunately, I don't.

I would suspect that it will be back soon after the new year, if the strike is still in its current situation.
ABC still has plenty of holes to fill becuase of the strike.
In this strike year, what do you air? Repeats of DH, Greys, B&S, DSM, PP, MiT, OR, UB, etc... that may average 4-5 million (at best), or air a game show that will get you 7-8 million viewers.
True that the numbers were similar at the start (although SMTM never matched Duels demo numbers after the first episode), but as you can see, each subsequent airing got worse and worse. Duel isn't really following the same pattern at this point. And I think that Sunday it will pop a bit with it's finale.
ABC 8:00 p.m. Show Me the Money (time period premiere) Viewers: 7.78 million (#2), A18-49: 2.1/ 6 (#2t)
7.67 million viewers (#4) and a fifth-place 2.2/ 6 among adults 18-49.
Show Me the Money (Viewers: #2, 7.11 million; A18-49: #5, 1.9/ 6
Show Me the Money (Viewers: 6.40 million, A18-49: 1.7/ 5)

didn't argue the fact that it's on or might stay on. certainly better than accordig to jim reruns. but it's just funny that one was perceived to be a megaflop embarrassment ... and the other is perceived to be a decent or "marginal" performer.

Any chance the Sci-Fi Channel will pick it up?
I echo your sentiments. Last nights episode, if a finale, was a moving hour of television.
I have fingers crossed that SCIFI might pick up this series to give us more episodes.

at the very least, Sci-Fi will air the episodes in repeats. NBC Universal has to make some money off the series some how.

Will all due respect, the chance of a cancelled show switching networks is incredibly slim. It's only happened for two or three shows out of the dozens that have been cancelled over the last several years. It could happen, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you...
Trust me, this is no Show Me the Money and I wanted to like that show simply because of Shatner, but just couldn't.

You must not know Dumont very well.
Oh, I see your somewhat new here (welcome).
Here's a little background on Dumont. He is the Saint of poorly rated series around here. He is even hoping that with the strike, that NBC (or one of the other nets) will NOW run the unaired episodes of a show that was cancelled 3 years ago.
Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report are the next late night shows to announce their returns without writers. Both shows will be back on the air January 7, a week after the January 2 resumption of NBC’s late night shows hosted by Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
You have got to be jerking me. How in the name of $%^&@#$%@ can Colbert and Stewart--of all the late night shows--just wing it? sigh Way to embolden the studios. I never thought I'd lose respect for Stewart and Colbert. Dammit.
