Sure...ER is failing...so NBC should keep Journeyman, Friday Night Lights, Bionic Woman, etc... as bigger failures just so they can cancel ER? The bottom line remains that ER should be judged by its 'peer group' of other NBC shows.
Side note: Marc - last night was a two hour episode of The Biggest Loser. Singing Bee was not on.
Note: The fast national results for Tuesday will be posted at PIFeedback.com by 12 p.m. ET. Go to the website, click on Ratings Box (the first category), then Last Night’s Results, and Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007.
----------
The listing of winners and losers are subject to change after the fast affiliate ratings are posted at PIFeedback.
-Yesterday’s Winners: NCIS (CBS), Dancing With the Stars (ABC), House (Fox), Law & Order: SVU (NBC)
-Yesterday’s Losers: Cavemen (ABC), Carpoolers (ABC), Beauty and the Geek (CW), Reaper (CW), Cane (CBS)

-Ratings Breakdown: Led by bona fide hit House, Fox inched past second-place CBS by four percent in the overnights. ABC finished third overall despite airing Dancing With the Stars (you can blame that on Cavemen and Carpoolers), followed by NBC and the CW. Sorry CW, but this has not been a good season so far.
CBS’ underrated NCIS opened the evening on a typically winning note, with a hefty 11.2 rating/17 share from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, that was an increase of eight percent from one year earlier (10.4/15 on Nov. 7, 2006). Next was Fox’s reliable Bones (5.7/ 9), which will have to relocate after American Idol returns in January. NBC kicked-off Tuesday with hiatus bound The Singing Bee (4.8/ 7), followed by a 90-minute edition of The Biggest Loser (5.4/ 8 from 8:30-10 p.m.), which always manages to generate some interest among adults 18-49 despite the limited lead-in support. ABC sitcoms Cavemen (#4: 3.7/ 6) and Carpoolers (#4: 4.9/ 6), if you can refer to them as that, dipped to series lows. And the CW’s ratings-challenged Beauty and the Geek capped off the hour withy a weak 2.0/ 3.
Had it not been for CBS stink-bomb Viva Laughlin (I love to pick on that show!), Cavemen would have hands down been the worst new show this season. Did you see it last night? Horrible!
ABC moved into the top spot at 9 p.m. care of the live Dancing With the Stars Results Show at a hefty 11.8/17. But second-place House on Fox (10.8/16) will have no trouble winning the hour among adults 18-49 once the fast affiliate results are posted at PIFeedback. To the reader who emailed me during last week’s live Mr. TV’s Fall 2007 Update asking why I do not like Hugh Laurie, I will be addressing that and other questions from the webcast on next Monday’s Mr. TV column. The webcast, by the way, is currently available for viewing at mediaweek.com or www.nielsencast.com. Also at 9 p.m. was CBS’ The Unit (7.1/10), which remains a good fit out of NCIS, and the CW’s Reaper at a series low 1.7/ 2.
NBC moved into the 10 p.m. winner’s circle care of Law & Order: SVU at an 8.6/14. Second was ABC’s still healthy Boston Legal (8.0/13), followed by CBS’ struggling Cane at a 5.7/ 9. No one ever said launching a serialized drama is easy.
I have not seen any nightly grouped finals, but each of the nets have released their "Spin" press releases that have some of the weekend finals included.
Of the shows I have found, I have the Ratings Trend charts updated on each shows individual thread.

Big ouch for Cane
Lots of serialized dramas launched great. Lost, 24(?), Heroes, Prison Break, even though many have since gone down. Maybe Marc should have said family serialized drama, because he has a point there.
Why is Cavemen still on the air? That was just misguided. Trying for social comment instead of comedy. A caveman concept is ripe for comedy if you just let it be very goofy. Even sort of the anti-Big Bang Theory. Nothing wrong with cheap laughs, as long as you actually get to, you know, laugh.
24 did not launch great. It was a flop on verge of cancellation.
You know, it's been so long, I can't even remember--let me try looking it up--oh yeah, the S1 ratings were pretty weak--particularly for six years ago.
