Thanks for pretending to play, but I note in passing that you didn't even bother to respond to a single point I made.
You're assuming there were valid (or any) points from you to begin with!

Which was probably wise--stick to cheerleading.
And of course, you will always be JEERLEADING!

Much like your battles with Castle & Showtime!
And Veronica Mars, Drive, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, What About Brian, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, The Black Donnellys, October Road, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse.....
But since your negativity, Castle will actually KEEP airing until 2011, while Showtime's ratings keep going up and up! And you've backpedaled on FOX's decision to move Fringe to Thursday nights! Instead of admitting the show was never a hit (more like a niche one), how about your use of the more recent adjective: "heavily-promoted Fringe"? The show has always been promoted heavily. It's just not that many viewers are sticking with it, as they initially did last season.
I was right - I knew FOX shouldn't have put it at that new Thursday timeslot. Too many big shows competing at that time. Advertisers couldn't care less about a high DVR audience.
Fringe might have actually stabilized in audience figures this year had it aired out of House. Shame too. Still a good show but I think FOX may have wanted to put a kibosh on Fringe by putting it on Thursdays, much like ABC did to Alias for its move to Thursdays in the fall of 2005.

No, I'm assuming you wouldn't know a valid point if it bit you on the arse--which it just did, btw.

Now don't think sucking up to me is going to get you off the hook. But still--'Jeerleading'--maybe I could switch to a smaller hook....

Um--?

And HBO's go up much faster, particularly in relation to its subscriber levels.

Not at all. I think FOX was right to do that. Fringe needed to be tested, and as it happens, it's failed the test, so far. I think it deserves its ratings decline, due to a poor second season, at least up to this point. I said repeatedly in the first season that I didn't want this one to run a long time, and I'm hopeful it'll go no longer than three seasons. And maybe the third one will be better, but I'm not counting on it.

Imagine that--just because it kept beating The Mentalist in the demo last season. What was I thinking? Oh wait, same thing FOX was thinking. And you were never thinking at all.
Dude, YOU'RE the cheerleader. I'm the JEERLEADER. Remember? You can't hurt a jeerleader by making fun of a TV show's ratings. WE LIKE THAT.

You spin us round round once again. A show that doesn't even retain 50% of its audience lead-in is NOT a hit.

I dunno. You actually think?

To okay additional seasons for 'Til Death & Dollhouse? Sure.

I become a jeerleader when I read offbase stuff like what you mostly post.

Who cares? Now, you're back to being boring again. Would you mind throwing a Supernatural jibe again?

Meaning it really does hurt when shows you like (Fringe) go off the air while shows you hate (Castle) keep on airing.

They probably will but what should they air at 10pm? Whether CBS does the move or not, this is the show's final season. After what I've seen of this season, it's about time that it's done.

I may remind you of that assertion in the future, Doug.

You become angry and shrill when I dare to question the rising hit status of a show in its 4th season with fewer than two million viewers. Hey, maybe they're all my alter egos.
Note from MLB: World Series Game 4: Yankees at Phillies attracted 22.8 million viewers on FOX last night, a 47% increase over 2008 World Series Game 4 (Tampa Bay Rays/Philadelphia Phillies)!
And, this was above the 20+ million figure of the 2007 World Series Game 4, when the Boston Red Sox clinched a championship, sweeping the Colorado Rockies.

*pouts* I can't believe I forgot there would be no football until AFTER it was too late to change my daily game entry. Stupid baseball!
Any news on the weekly game yet?

It's not anger when I just enjoy straightening you out! BTW, cume the audience for Dexter when factoring its repeat airings and it'll come to about 4-5 million viewers per week. On pay cable, no less.

You're missing out on Dexter: one of the best dramas, if not THE BEST drama, on television right now. You should try the show again some time. Highly recommended. And take it from me: I was right with True Blood last fall!

I think they should just switch Three Rivers and Cold Case. I still think that Cold Case has some life left in it. Even thought I think the show peaked in creativity in it's 6th season that show has had some good episodes this season so far. Plus I like this storyline that they haver with Lilly and that guy.
Doug, the ratings for Dexter are not that much higher than those of the previous season. Showtime makes a big deal out of every small gain, but those gains are largely explained by a recession-fueled increase in their subscriber levels.
What pisher meant to state:
quote:
I hate Showtime. I will do everything in my power to discredit any positive news concerning Showtime, even if it means outputting unsubstantiated arguments and denying the reality that is actual ratings.
I love HBO at all costs. And if it's a show I despise on HBO, I will somehow connect it back to Showtime, the network I hate the most.
Thank you! G'night!
LOL, looks like Pisher was truly pished by Douglas this time.
Not sure why Pisher hates Showtime but his bashing gets really tiresome.

Same format but it is turning into a monthly game. Takes a while to compose each game and lately, my time has been limited. But doing it monthly would be very manageable.
When I post the new game, you will surely be notified of it in advance.
