I am not officially working today, so there is no analysis. But since we all need a daily dose of ratings, here are the fast affiliate results for Wednesday, Oct. 8 by network, following by each half-hour in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW.
NBC needs to cancel Lipstick Jungle. It's below a 5 million and 2 in the demo. They have Law and Order ready to go. If they don't want to do that, Dateline is ready. Either will do much more in the ratings. Seriously, Til Death rated higher than Lipstick Jungle.
ABC needs to cancel Dirty Sexy Money and Pushing Daisies. Both are way too low in viewership and demos. 20/20 can fill in for Dirty Sexy Money. Supernanny/Wife Swap could fill in for Pushing Daisies.
Now that the bad news is out of the way:
NBC really didn't get anything out of BL. It did below its normal ratings and lost viewership from KR. As I said before, they risk overexposure.
KR is going to get renewed. Even at those lower numbers, it is a star on NBC's schedule. Yes, that says something about the state NBC is currently in.
CSI NY is just running away with the ratings due to no competition from the other networks. It is complete domination. Very good numbers.
Did anyone figure out why TD does so much better at 9 than 9:30? That is interesting.
LOL, what a disaster for ABC. The fast national look even worse than the overnights. PD needs to be pulled and moved to fridays for a quick death Private Practice is slaughtered by CM. Nothing to do about it, it's just as dead, maybe a slower death. And the demos are awful as well
Nice going CBS. Good numbers for the sitcoms and fantastic numbers for CM and CSINY. Interesting how GU skews much younger than OC
