I think Sundance is a pretty good singer based on the audition round; don't know why he performed so poorly last night. I do think he deserves to be there more than Sanjaya IMHO. I think teenagers and kids vote more than people in their 30's and above so Sanjaya will probably make it through.

LOL Veronica Mars has a lot of old people watching the show compared to One Tree Hill. Too bad Veronica Mars consistantly did horrible and One Tree Hill did fine before Idol.

On a side note, how do you guys think Dancing would effect the Tuesday ratings? Think it will dent Idol and House?

LOL. I know. But isn't it better to have CONSISTENTLY bad ratings than to have okay ratings and have them drop to horrible (even below VM's "bad" ratings)? LOL. ;-)

I have just read this morning that there is a Greys spin-off in the works starring Kate walsh(Addison Montgomery). I think that this is a great idea, it seems like no one does spin-offs anymore, they used to be the norm in the 70's and 80's.

Why can't ABC bring Millionaire back. They could air it regularly on either Friday or Saturdays. Better yet, put it against Idol on Tuesdays/Wednesdays.

Well...truthfully, there are only 3 guys out of the 12 that can really sing. Blake, Chris Sligh, and Phil Stacey. The rest of the guys last night sucked. I am beginning to wonder though...are the judges really tone deaf?

Peace!!

No because consistantly bad ratings means it won't ever come back up, but if there was a drop there can be a climb back up.

when ANTM returns OTH will be kicking VM's ass once again! OTH actually kicked VM's ass almost everytime this season. Face it, VM will not be back for a 4th season! 2.70mill wont fix the CW.

It will probably do better, yes, but I wouldn't say it would be "kicking VM's ass." I NEVER did THAT, not really. And actually, VM had a couple of decent ratings in the fall, by CW standards anyway. It just has tougher competition now, as does OTH, and with a lower lead-in. But GG is now a lower lead-in for VM because of American Idol. Don't forget THAT. ;-)

Yeah, sadly, I doubt VM will get back above 3 million this season, at least not much. It's going to be a rough ride to cancellation.

I am perplexed that ABC continues to stick by its 8-10 pm line-up on Tuesdays, which garnered 1.8 in the 18-49 demo last night.

Aside from AFV's 1.75 A18-49 on Jan.16/07, I don't think ABC has fallen so low in A18-49s for 2 hours on Tuesdays since The One: Making a Music Star last July.

Where is your competitive spirit ABC? This is sweeps, for heaven's sake. Is there not a decent theatrical in the Disney vault that you can put up in the 8-10 pm hour? A few Charlie Browns? A Barbara Walters encore?

Your neglectful programming is harming Boston Legal, which has never seen such desperately low lead-in numbers.

I agree. VM has never had strong ratings. OTH had strong ratings in seasons 1 [as the season progressed] and 2, then season 3 dropped. So far OTH has improved this season.

Trust me consistently bad ratings isn't a good thing; it means that the show will not be renewed.

Veronica Mars would do better on a different day with nothing on the other 4 network except crap.

Wow that sounds like the same Supernatural fans say.

Isn't it always?
And no Veronica Mars had decent ratings when it was airing against almost no competition at all.

Except you forgot to mention the fact that there is actually a basis for Supernatural fans to make that claim and none for Veronica Mars. Supernatural has done moderately well against stiff competition the entire season, and Veronica Mars did horribly without any competition in the fall and tanked even worse with competition in the spring.

This season they started with relatively little competition with the best lead in they can find and yet still did horribly in ratings compared to any of the other scripted dramas, some of which had much stiffer competitions.

Veronica Mars DOES...have GG for a lead-in.
So, I'm confused. LOL.

What's this about Grey's and AI?

Yeah, of course it would. I'm just saying Tuesdays and Wednesdays may not be the right place. It MIGHT do a LITTLE better on another night, or maybe a lot better. Who knows? But they can't move it all over creation. So we'll never know.

And yeah, at first, GG seemed like an awesome lead-in. It was high-rated. But the demos are off or something; the point is, it just doesn't work like they thought it would, especially not with the way they were promoting early on (with the Aerie Girls).

Just an example of lead-ins and days having an effect on ratings: Jack and Bobby did really well in its premier (by WB standards), and a week later, it dropped quite a bit but still wasn't doing HORRIBLE yet. Then they moved it to Wednesdays, out of Smallville, I believe, which was even higher rated than Charmed, and the ratings plummeted. I think if they had left it on Sundays, out of Charmed, with a lower lead-in rating, they MIGHT have done better. So...what kind of lead-in could have this same effect on VM? Smallville? Supernatural? I don't know. I like talking about this, but I'm not actually coming to any conclusions. LOL. Just speculating. ;-)

I second that. ABC is smart to try to capitalize on Grey's while it is still hot.

There's ALWAYS a drop in the second half of the season (and that applies to MANY shows), but it always comes back stronger in the fall. There's a bit of a climb for you.
