Rob Thomas wrote Season 3 of Veronica Mars for beginniners so that they can understand it without needing to know much history, also there are 3 myserty arcs so you can start watching the show with a whole new story line after every arc so you still don't need to know much history and you can watch fresh. Also the stand alone episode airing in May is a final test for veronica mars since each episode is episodic and there really is no connection from each ep.
That's not really true. Yeah, they tried to make VM a standalone show, and they did an okay job of it, but there's still history there. People still feel like they should start from the beginning when they watch a show, because there's a lot of stuff to see. I wouldn't start watching Lost, for example, in season 3.

Yeah, i agree. Everwood should have made it. Yeah thats why its so hard to VM to tie up and end. RB never had enough time to make a decision. Rob Thomas said that he is currently writing the season finale of Veronica Mars. It was supposed to be intense from what i heard. Yeah, thats why VM needs another season to tie everything up. Vm takes really long time to get things to end right, especially the lily kane stuff so it would be a super long time for Veronica Mars to end right. That's why VM needs a 4th Season, even if it is a last 4th Season, as long as we can say goodbye to the show without having to get a super cliffhanger and we all know that from Tru Calling.
Not 100% true, i know, but the first arc is for sure. They were holding back a lot, thats why te first arc was so bad. The second arc however is more history, especially with Madison Sinclair and stuff. The Aaron Echolls stuff barely or not at all got mentioned even though it looked pretty important.

Yeah. I never watched that, but I've heard about that. Did you ever see The WB's Popular? SUPER, HUGE cliffhanger ending.
And I don't even need a full season of VM. 11 to 13 episodes is okay by me, as long as they know they are ending it then. Hehe.

I didn't think it was BAD, per se. It was just like...watching a different show where we already know the main characters; a spin-off! A lighter show...about rape and murder. LOL.

Popular, oh i heard of that! Just hate cliff-hangers, especially when they cancell a show!
Yeah, i agree, no full season of VM needed, 13 episode order is alright. However long they need to close the season is up to the writers. Just as long as a 4th season tier upper with no cliff-hanger.

I watched Veronica Mars, Everybody Hates Chris, Smallville and Supernatural before the merger.
I continue to watch each show now.
But do you watch any other show that you didn't watch before?
I don't watch ANY show on ANY network unless I watch from the first episode (the pilot), save for reality shows or special events (such as Super Bowl episodes).
I don't watch shows out of order. Period.
Exactly, which is what I was trying to say, people weren't going to watch shows just because of the merger, they were going to watch "their" shows, that's it.

I don't refuse to watch shows on networks just because of what network they are on. That's incredibly dumb. I try to sample every new show, regardless of the network they air on.

And how ever long it stays on the air is up to CW.

Same here. Like I used to not be that big UPN, except for the Parkers. But when they aired Enterprise, I checked it out and liked it and then I watched Everybody Hates Chris last year and I LOVED it.

Yeah, good philosophy. I used to be WB-only, for the most part. Now, I'm part CW, part ABC, part...other stuff (e.g. FX for Nip/Tuck). LOL.

Dawn wrote the multiple choice exam with Everwood being the only choice and she picked 7th Heaven because of the SERIES FINALE ratings were high so Everwood's dreams were crushed because a dead show came back to haunt them.
That's true, but Veronica Mars never should have been chosen over Everwood to begin with. It shouldn't have come down to "7th Heaven or Everwood." It should have been a decision between those two along with Veronica Mars and One Tree Hill, but it wasn't because Dawn and the execs played favorites instead of making sound business decisions. The writers knew early in season 4 that Everwood was history, because the suits hated it for whatever reason.
