-Ratings Breakdown: Three networks split leadership on this typically low-rated Saturday, with CBS first in households, ABC the most-watched and Fox’s perennial combination of Cops (Viewers: #1, 4.40 million; A18-49: #1, 1.6/ 7) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: #3, 4.49 million; A18-49: #2, 1.5/ 6) No. 1 among adults 18-49. CBS opened the evening with a repeat of The Unit (Viewers: #3, 3.11 million; A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 3 at 8 p.m.), followed by a repeat of Without a Trace (Viewers: #2, 4.55 million; A18-49: #4, 0.8/ 3) and 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: #1, 6.40 million; A18-49: #1, 1.6/ 6) from 9-11 p.m. Worth repeating: if you like crime solving mysteries you should not miss 48 Hours.
ABC aired a repeat of theatrical The Princess Diaries (Viewers: #1, 4.85 million; A18-49: #2, 1.3/ 6 from 8-10 p.m.) and a repeat of America’s Funniest Home Videos (Viewers: #2, 4.50 million; A18-49: #2, 1.4/ 5 at 10 p.m.). And NBC kicked-off with a repeat of The Singing Bee (Viewers: #3, 3.08 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.0/ 5 at 8:30 p.m.), followed by a 90-minute repeat edition of America’s Got Talent (Viewers: #4, 3.39 million; A18-49: #3, 1.5/ 5) and a repeat of Medium at 10 p.m. (Viewers; #3, 3.12 million; A18-49: #3, 1.0/ 4). Unlike House star Hugh Laurie, who was annoyed when I said I hopes he wins the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, my wife and I met Joey Fatone and he was a real mensch.
But that is a small bright spot for NBC, which is averaging less than 1.0 in A18-49 on Saturdays this summer. NBC has shown the worst fall-off amongst all the networks in terms of retaining young adult demo from the regular season:
Saturday Night A18-49 averages, May.25 to Jul.27/2007 (vs. regular season Friday A18-49 average)
CBS 1.19 (1.91) 62% retention of demo from regular season ABC 1.29 (1.85) 69% retention NBC 0.95 (1.77) 53% retention FOX 1.49 (2.40) 62% retention MyNetworkTV 0.35 (na)
It is also worth noting that The Unit's 0.6 A18-49 rating is getting precariously close to the 0.4 A18-49 that MyNetworkTV is averaging on Saturdays.
He was not friendly. I was there with my son, waiting on the line for the bumper cars, and he walked behind us with his publicist. There was only the four of us there. I said hello and introduced him to my son. Then I congratulated him on his Emmy nomination and said I hope he wins. He and the publicist told me to "never say that again." My son said he will never watch House again.

Why did they tell you "never say that again"?

That's very rude!

Wow. That is just perfectly awful.
Was it driven by some kind of crazy superstitious belief? Even if it is, it's not justified, and, even if you're some kind of supersitious weirdo, there are nice ways to say, "Thank you, but please I don't wanna jinx anything."
How 'bout a simple "Thank you! Glad you like the show!"
Jeez - you try to pay the guy a compliment and wind up getting snapped at. I'm sorry you and your son had to go through that.

It looks like the carchater in the show, House, is starting to rub off on him.

That is EXTREMELY rude. I thought he was a relatively nice guy. I guess starring on a hit show can really go to your head. So, now who do you want to win?

The AGT rating was 3.39mm, 1.5 18-49, the 1.5 being unusually high for it on that TA based on previous Saturdays. This suggests a 1.5 18-49 on a HR in the low 2's, and growth in the demo of 50% out of TSB on only slightly more TA.......?
Actually, over the whole summer on Saturdays, AGT is the show that is the most responsible for the low demo the net has on Saturdays. It has by far eaten up the most hours, with MEDIUM only airing 3-4 times (and last nite doing the summer's average for the nite in 18-49), and there has been smattering of other shows like DATELINE, the Earth Concert, etc.
Further, AGT on Tuesdays didn't budge SVU's numbers, and I'd bet the 3+mm that watched AGT were a different crowd than the 3+mm that watched MEDIUM.
Basically, NBC traded in Saturday for Sunday, where they have SVU in play in the 10pm hour.

Maybe it was superstition, but he could have said it better in front of a kid.
