Please. The show should have been cancelled years ago. They gave it LOST's timeslot and it gave it to the rival networks. I think even FREDDIE outrated it. Don't worry George. Your buddy Mencia is doing FANtastic!!
I've never seen the show before. But I've seen a lot of high quality shows like ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT get cancelled too soon because of low ratings. I was clearly not the only one not watching LOPEZ, even when my favorite show LOST left the timeslot, and we were left with his show. What bugs me most about this guy is what a whiny b**ch he is. He's been going around badmouthing Jay Leno for not having him on lately. I'm not really a Leno fan, but King George has to realize NOBODY cares what he has to say. He is (was) on a show that few care about, and he has nothing else going on. Don't worry about Latinos not being on the air. Carlos Mencia (who George complains has stolen his act) is doing much better at it. Maybe George can watch his show and "re"learn how to be funny.

Is the LA Times writer correct in saying Lopez was the first Latino to headline a TV show? Way back in the last century, I seem to recall a horrid little thing called "Chico and the Man." Lopez was lucky ABC stuck with his show as long as it did. It was never a ratings success, and besides that, it really sucked. quote: Originally posted by jeauxjeaux10: I didn't watch George Lopez much. When I did, I thought it was a funny family sitcom. Well I knew this was coming. Truth of the matter is that GLo was miles funnier than anything else on ABC this year, save for maybe the Knights of Prosperity, which it outrated. I don't like that he's pulling the race card, but the fact that his show is produced by Warner Bros. is the real reason. ABC would rather reap the benefits of another year of horrid According to Jim and George was right in pointing out ABC's brutal treatment. 4 Timeslots in 5 seasons! Almost as bad as Bernie Mac. Lets relive them all: Wed. at 8:30, Friday at 8:00, Tuesday at 8:30, Wednesday at 8:00, and Tuesday at 8:00. At least his show went out at the top of its game, unlike Jim which was funny for about 1/2 season. quote: Originally posted by Fred Farrar: TV just got a lot 'whiter,' says a canceled George Lopez By Maria Elena Fernandez Los Angeles Times Staff Writer May 14, 2007 George Lopez, the first Latino to lead a television series successfully, isn't laughing. I guarantee you GLo would've done as well as Jim if left on Wednesday and ABC didn't give his show the shot to slash cuts. They canned it because they weren't reaping syndication benefits. When out of Idol's path last season, GLo performed well. He was even outrating recent Wed. 8pm performers AtJ and Notes before the death move to Tuesday at 8 against the Death Star with little to no promotion. ABC simply wanted it gone. The last timeslot was evidence of that. quote: Originally posted by bbmm: I hate how race is played into George Lopez being canned. Notes from The underbelly is a new show and cheaper to produce. Jim agreed to slash it's cost and Knights was going to get a big name. GLo had none of that. Also the fact the season final of the show couldn't reach five million viewers all factored into it.

I watched the King of Queens finale and I must say....Bravo! They did an awesome job. I hope they have huge ratings. They have always been overshawdowed by other sucessful sitcoms like Raymond and Two and a Half Men. I hope they shine. They deserve it. I'll miss it!

I thought part of the reason it moved around was because it never did well anywhere the network put it. They gave it a golden slot where LOST beat up the competition, and it had nothing to show for it. And I think the Friday slot was consolation for the network not doing well on that night anyway, so it could afford LOPEZ's bad ratings. But I think the schedulings were meant to find an audience for the show. Otherwise, the network would be justified for dumping the show years ago. Same with Jim. Both shows were lucky to be on this long. quote: Originally posted by mushu_jj: Well I knew this was coming. Oh I'm sure it did pretty well. I'm guessing around 17 mill..hopefully. Consider this: it's getting around 14mill now. 7th Heaven managed to pull in an extra mill, and in CBS terms... thats a lot. Also, it was a series finale of a show that was publicized A LOT over the last month. quote: Originally posted by tvfan300: quote: Originally posted by Keith1990: I watched the King of Queens finale and I must say....Bravo! I don't watcch CBS a whole lot and when I do I usually flip the channel on commercials. Was this weeks series finale publicized a lot this week? quote: Originally posted by Justin: Oh I'm sure it did pretty well. I'm guessing around 17 mill..hopefully. Yes, I'd say so. Not only that but it's the most watched network. So... quote: Originally posted by Keith1990: I don't watcch CBS a whole lot and when I do I usually flip the channel on commercials. No, that's not correct. It did fine at the beginning and then the numbers did go down the last 2 years. If it was that low rated for 5 1/2 years, ABC would have canned it long ago. quote: Originally posted by Frazier: I thought part of the reason it moved around was because it never did well anywhere the network put it.
