I'm thinking if Oprah's new reality show looks good they should move her there and rest Home Edition for part of the year. Also a stronger series at 10pm wouldn't hurt. I think ABC should use Brothers and Sisters as a pairing for Private Practice and October Road.

Great viewer and HH retention for B&S... wish the demo retention was as strong!

FOX Maintains Lead After 18 Days of the May Sweep:

2007 A18-49 vs first 18 nights 2006 A18-49
(results weighted for extra hour on Sundays)

1. FOX 3.5 vs 4.1 (-15%)
2. ABC 3.4 vs 3.1 (+10%)
3. CBS 3.1 vs 3.7 (-16%)
4. NBC 2.3 vs 3.1 (-26%)
5. CW 1.2 vs. 1.3 (-8% to The WB)
6. MNT 0.4 vs 1.2 (-67% from UPN, first 15 nights only)
TOTAL 6 NETS: 13.9 vs. 16.4 (-15%)

As a result of ABC's weak year-over-year Sunday performance (4.0 in A18-49 last night vs. 6.1 in A18-49 last year), FOX continues to lead ABC by just 0.1 in A18-49 after 18 days of the May Sweep.

ABC continues to be the only broadcast network to show year-over-year improvement in A18-49 after 18 days of the May Sweep, with the six networks in total down 15% from the first 18 days last year.

Could explain some of it, but I think The Sopranos were on during the first year of DH. And that didn't hurt the ratings when DH was red-hot in season 1.

I wonder how much of this is due to the Sopranos final episodes?

ABC is coming back to the pack a little (in terms of year-to-year) which should sure up a victory for FOX, even if a lot of their shows are down year-to-year as well.

Actually, I think during season one the Sopranos was off the air (remember the very long hiatus?).

Two questions about FOX's sunday night lineup. First, how do you explain how the rerun of the Simpsons consistently outdraws the new episode?

Second, why do they show a rerun of King of the Hill every week? Why not a second Simpsons rerun or a Family Guy rerun?

That's not bad for Survivor, not great but after 7 years and 15 cycles I'd say it's doing well for itself.

Also, Brother's & Sisters did well tonight also. Desperate is sagging but very much still in the race while 7th Heaven should have quit while it was still ahead last year. Everwood could have done those numbers and probably even better.

76% in total viewers and 72% in the demo. Is that really a big difference?

I read a rumor that FOX is going to bring The Winner back next year. That can't be true, can it? That show was awful, and the ratings weren't good.

I stand corrected...after double-checking I see The Sopranos actually aired last year but not in 2005. Therefore, it would be hard to use that as an explanation for the year-to-year losses.

That is the rumor...would certainly be a surprise.
