it aired until 10:02pm, so it'll grow a bit in final nationals... but the increase at the half hour is characteristic for the show (even if before it was more of a 6.2 to a 6.4...)
not necessarily DWTS viewers jumping over. in fact, the male ratings increased more than the female ratings at 9:30pm
where did the other Heroes viewers go since it went off the air in March?
Why are they any more of a loser than How I Met Your Mother?
Because HIMYM was a repeat (not included in loser listings) and it's NEVER had the kind of lead-in support Christine had (it's not once aired after 2.5 Men... though this summer it will be airing repeats after the big show, I'm happy to say).
let's got to the mall, everybody!
I'm just saying that when you take a show off the air for six weeks and bring it back in a new timeslot, it's going to suffer, and this show is battling back. I think the show is improving and I'd like to see it stay on.
Hmmmm, interesting. 24 increased in the next half hour too. Cool. That makes me feel better about it's lagging numbers lately. At least people aren't tuning in and then out. Add the fact that 24 has to practically build its own audience from scratch by getting absolutely no boost from a lead-in and yeah the show totally deserves an honorable mention.
All right, I'm laughing really hard here. There are three shows on Mondays which's ratings I'm looking out for: the appalling Drive (poor Nathan Fillion; I like him),
There's no reason you shouldn't. He's a very nice man. He's just not leading man material, is all. He apparently saves his best stuff for the auditions. Assuming Minear even made him read for the part. Minear still drinks the Firefly Kool-Aid.

the overrated Heroes and the quite underrater 24. ALL DOWN!! Unbelievable!
I have no problem believing it. What I find hard to believe is that it's possible to underrate 24.
quote:
First of all, Drive. PATHETIC. From 6.2 million to 5.6 million to 4.6 million? Does it suck that bad? Will it be 3.6 million next week? Then 2.6? 1.6? 0.6? And finally, 0?
It doesn't have that much road left. But if they gave it a full season, you might want to brush up on your integers.
quote:
Because that would be awesome. Poor show, I was kind of hoping that Fillion would get a success from here, but there you go.
The story of Nathan Fillion so far:
Firefly: Heavily touted ratings flop.
Serenity: Heavily touted box office flop.
Slither: Heavily touted box office bomb (it will be the 182nd highest grossing 2006 release, worldwide).
White Noise 2: The Light: In case anybody thinks all the touting wasn't having any effect.
Drive: FOX proves once again it has no intention of ever learning from history.
quote:
Goodbye, Drive!
I'm waiting until I see the stake in its heart, the head stuffed with garlic, and the holy water sprinkled on its tomb. Oh, and the cars all cannibalized for parts.
About all the serialized shows showing franchise fatigue--why is anyone surprised?
None of these shows had years of potential in them. Lost should have been a three year show, tops.
The nets need to stop doing this. No more attempts at creating long-running serialized dramas. Either give us episodic, or give us limited-run miniseries. The term 'telenovela' has been irretrievably damaged in the English-speaking world by MNTV.

Yeah, but that's the problem - it's a little like agreeing to Communism. "Yes, absolutely - I sure will step down from power once we've achieved our goal" "Yes, absolutely - this idea only makes sense for three or four years. I will absolutely cancel it even though it's a hit after that time."
How I Met Your Mother a repeat. Christine was new. Both shows are losers though.

It strikes me as strange that people talk about what is wrong with virtually every series day after day when trying to explain season and or series lows. For the most part, you're talking about things systematic of where we are in the season. When so many series are hitting at or near season lows expectations have to be changed. You can't compare ratings now to ratings in February or earlier.

I understand, but the current policy is worse than Communism--it's like the Bush administration. Something isn't working, so order a 'surge'. The same discredited people getting to fail, over and over and over again, and there's no accountability, and they walk away with millions, while the system crumbles to dust.
If a miniseries does well, order another one featuring the same people. It's that simple. If the economics don't work--well, how's the current policy working out?

The moment has finally arrived: i totally agree with you
