Hello, folks, I'm back. And thank you TravisYanan for posting the ratings for me this week.
Here are the fast affiliate results for Friday, Dec. 21 broken out by network overall and each network by half hour (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW).
I'd liketa believe that viewers migrated from Fox to CW when that clinker GAB came on Fox. wasn't the season(hopefully SERIES)finale for GAB? It was a good concept, horribly made. Shoot, no wonder the writers are on strike, if that's all the better an unscripted show with a good idea behind it can be made!
Presumably the final nail in the coffin for Joey Fatone and co. (except for the ep that's being burned off next week) It only got two thirds of what Lyrics did in the shows' first head-to-head match... not only that, but Lyrics was a repeat. So... Bring on Bob Saget!
And call me crazy, but I think this is some of the best news Duel has had all week. This may improve the chances at another tourney. It's a series low (in demo, though not in viewers), but that was expected for Friday, and it was against a lot of other unscripted stuff and crushed all of it. For ABC during strike season, a consistent 7 million and 2.0 isn't going to look so bad in a lot of slots.
And if they pace it like they did last night, they may even be able to grow. I think they finally got some of the tension they were going for.
Thank you, Elvis. I could not get into Duel. The set looked too much like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and I thought the host was awful. I really hated it.

So it takes a Friday to make Duel #1, eh? I guess we won't be seeing a Cycle 2 anytime soon.
I disagree with Marc. I love Duel. If ABC is smart they would bring it back for another cycle. Yeah Mike couldn't stop putting the pen to his mouth every waking minute, but the show had a better flow that Power of 10!
I have to wonder since Millionaire has been off prime time for so long, if that wouldn't be a decent answer to ABC's woes.
Maybe run it once (or at the most) twice a week...
I think it could at least deliver a decent household number and fair 18-49.

Completely agree. Duel is a good show. An original premise for once. As much as I also like Power of 10, its nothing more than a Family Feud ripoff. Mike is sometimes annoying but he's miles ahead of most gameshow hosts that have been out there recently. I think it will be back, in the summer at least.

I'm all for a primetime Millionaire returning, perhaps the Super Millionaire that aired 3 seasons ago.

I enjoyed watching it live. It has a much better pace than Deal or No Deal, where Howie Mandel repeats the rules 40x an episode. Sucks being the computer software engineer, but that's just another great aspect of the game. Several times, the perceived dummy beat the previous winner.

We all agreed we couldn't see it without the tivo Fast Forward. Also, we'd all like to stick that pen up one of the host's body orifices.
And just about how many times did that Software Engineer stand up, only to never be picked? Kind of the opposite of the Playground pick.
I agree about both shows, but lets face it, another idiotic scheduling move by NBC putting it head to head with the superior DFTL. Either use it in the summer or give it a decent lead in NBC. On a weak night like Friday, a show like the Singing Bee should be able to perform. Perhaps once FNL runs out of eps they can try it again after 1 vs. 100 and into Las Vegas repeats or Dateline.
