Happy Holidays, everyone. Here are the fast affiliate results for Monday, Dec. 24 broken out overall by network, and via each half-hour by network (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW).
I know it may be a couple of days, but is anyone gets the numbers for TBS' numbers for "A Christmas Story", please pass them along. I have always wondered whay they goet for the 24 hour marthon and/or its peak airing of the movie.
ABC eked out a narrow victory last night, and that is something for Mr. McPherson to savour as nightly victories have been few and far between over the past few weeks.
ABC won the four-way slug-out of the theatricals last night with "Madagascar", though I'm interested to see how MyNetworkTV did last night with its strong theatrical "All the Pretty Horses", which almost certainly surpassed The CW's measley 1.14m viewers / 0.4 A18-49 and just might have surpassed mothership FOX's skinny 2.58m viewers / 0.8 A18-49 last night too.

Paradoxically, though How I Met Your Mother got more viewers, The Big Bang Theory got 20% more A18-49.

The first itme since about week 3 of the season. After that BBT was usually larger when of the "Same Flavor"
Christmas Eve is one of the lowest-viewership nights of the year for prime-time television, whether broadcast or cable.
People are going to Church services, or coming home after last-minute shopping, or having family/friends over, or traveling for such get-togethers.
As for me, I went to a Christmas Eve service with my new girlfriend (we've been dating since July 4th) in the late-afternoon, went back to her place where we fixed dinner and then watched "It's A Wonderful Life".
Until I watched it this Christmas Eve, I may have been in fact the only American over the age of three who hadn't seen that movie at least once from beginning-to-end.

As much as I watch TV, I watched very little the past couple of days. What little was watched was DVRed Christmas Specials or Classic Christmas Movies (A Christmas Story).

I still haven't seen it all the way through. I suspect I'm not alone, either.
And I'm not necessarily averse to old movies. I've been watching a decent amount of TCM over the past several weeks since I got a DVR. (The best films included "The 400 Blows" and an obscure, dark late-'50s drama called "A Face in the Crowd" with Andy Griffith, with is partly about the early days of TV. Fascinating stuff.)

I haven't seen It's a Wonderful Life, either, but I guess it's not "required viewing" for us Jews...

Don't worry. I celebrate the birth of Christ and have yet to view Its a Wonderful Life either. 20 minutes one Thanksgiving afternoon was enough. Bring on the football! I will however watch the likes of the 10 Commandments, a Christmas Story, among other holiday favorites.
