CBS seems to cancel a lot of shows that still get good ratings that I'm surprised that the other networks don't pick them up -- Shark did respectable numbers, close to home, the guardian -- they seem to cancel just to add new shows.
why again won't anybody program on Saturday -- is it really not worth it?
We all like the regular cast, but having a few reoccuring characters is good too.
What would Andy Griffith Show be if it didn't have Ernest T. Bass or Gomer Pyle or Floyd around?
Seinfeld became great because of occational characters like Puddy, Susan, His Parents, Newman, etc... that they could play off of.

If they would have done the same script with an unknow actress, would you still be complaining?
today you have called that pointless/lifeless storyline funny and you hyped up how funny Rodney was. I hearby revoke your sitcom understanding license.
Oh, and this coming from someone who thinks AiA is funny. Puh-lease!

If Shark was canceled beacause of the ratings and not beacause of Woods related problems than CBS made a big mistake just like they did last season canceling C2H. Shark was a reliable show, who knows what numbers will its replacement get
CBS is in the good position that alamost all of their shows get good ratings, so the 2 or 3 at the bottem do tend to get the axe for fresh content.

Why on Earth did NBC premiere AG against such a tough competition. They could've aired 2 episodes back to back for a couple of weeks, and premiere the show at the end of May I also think AG will do better in a couple of weeks (around 6 million i guess) but that was a big mistake from NBC

But the current might perform better than the new shows. If youre shows are doing good than don't change anything
I've watched every episode, but that may be a fair assesment. It had tremendus potential and was interesting, but never quite found the magic it needed.
Perhaps we can have the daughter killed in the season finale. Now that would be closure.

The same numbers that CBS gets with almost everything else, I imagine. Most CBS shows can be classifed as reliable. For CBS to have a chance at a new hit program though, it has to clear out some of those reliable ones.
