I like the regular characters. They can leave Britney out. She didn't even give it that much of a ratings boost this time. Maybe half a million, and not much more.

What? Last nights episode was funny.
If they would have done the same script with an unknow actress, would you still be complaining?
The scene with Abby and Barney talking about Ted was great and how she just blurts in "I love you Ted!" was classic. She can be a reoccurring guest as far as I'm concerned.

She was horrible again last night. Hopefully the show will get this gimmick out of the way before any of next year's episodes are tainted with such weak comedy storylines/acting.

But we are only just DAYS away from the season premeier of The Bachelorette. Can't you feel the Buzzzzzz?
God help us. I think that may bomb big time. Although lack of competition should keep it around 7 million viewers. The Mole is what really sounds great.

I agree. she could be an interesting charact, if used just a couple, three times each season. SHe's perfectly cast for the part of a crazy woman.

They were sort of forced to by the calendar unfortunately (they have to get all 13 eps in before the Olympics). If you had premiered it Memorial Day, or the week after, I think you'd see it a lot higher (and let's see what happens after DWTS and House finish their seasons). I don't think NBC is going to panic yet- I'd think they'd have to had expected it, premiering against the next-to-last week of DWTS and the first part of the House finale...Now if it gets to mid-June and it's this bad, then you've got trouble.
I don't think it will improve much. NBC puts lots of hype into this and got nothing out of it. The nostalgia factor wore off quickly in the winter and now people really don't see the need to return.
Mushu_jj is correct. NBC put alot of hype around AG. They based a DOND episode around it and the premier still bombed.

today you have called that pointless/lifeless storyline funny and you hyped up how funny Rodney was. I hearby revoke your sitcom understanding license.
I'm not prepared to count American Gladiators out just yet.
The second season tweaks in American Gladiators were positively received by fans of the program. It's possible a good word of buzz could build the rating back up some in subsequent weeks.
Besides, NBC didn't really have much confidence in American Gladiators as a regular season show anyway. These first few weeks excepted, NBC has AG slotted as a summer season program for this year and (tentatively) 2009.
It's against other summer shows that American Gladiators should be fairly judged.

I hated Rodney, but I do think Brittany was funny last night. She just plays that role to a T. I hope she returns on a reoccurring basis but no more than that. Instead, I hope we get Sarah Chalk full time after Scubs if done. Well, that's all for this kid today for a while- finals time.

Great news, but I feel like ABC would treat it better (maybe giving samantha who's slot) than CBS. But just great great news that it is on the air -- I just don't know where
Also, hear that rules, mother and the unit and reaper are saved. Moonlight looks like its getting axed.
By renewing Old Christine, whether for 13 or 22 episodes, ABC would have been unable to get the show so I think CBS ordered the 22 episodes based on the shows merits and not whether ABC wanted it.
