Walter
Why did ABC move Women's Murder Club anyway? It was getting around 8-9 million viewers in that slot, and that's HUGE compared to Duel. I don't understand why ABC feels they need to expose the show to everyone by airing it after Grey's and after Dancing With the Stars. It already was a hit. They need to move it back, and fast. If ABC cancels it, I think I might have to shoot someone.
It was the highest rated show in that time slot.
Its stupid, I hope ABC is smart and gives it a 13 episode order for fridays.

You are correct. A link to this thread was posted on a few Moonlight fans forums.
Thanks for clarifying

Well at least that makes it the longest Friday thread in a while. But it doesn't make ML performance any better. Why not move Numbers to 9pm and ML to 10pm if the latter is renewed?

What was the point of the 'recruitment'? This isn't a fan site or a site about what happened on TV shows (though most TV shows do have their own thread on this site for that purpose). This is a thread about TV ratings. Why recruit people to come here and talk about how popular Moonlight based illegal merchandise sold on E-bay is or how many foreigners participate on web forums about Moonlight? It won't change the facts about the TV ratings. Moonlight is a bubble show and its return mostly hinges upon CBS new product development and the Nielsen ratings for the last few episodes of Moonlight.

Just want to clarify some points: it's watched by 3 times more people but the buzz around the show is 3 times less than for Veronica Mars, worldwide nobody knows about this show, it loses viewers from its 8pm lead-in although it has no competition, it skews old so that's a proof this "large fanbase" is just a dream of some people, it brings down CBS's line-up, will never be a hit. So once again it may get renwed only if CBS thinks its fall projects are bad.
I suggest you get on the Moonlight message boards. You'd found countless fans from Brazil, Italy, Australia and even the Middle East (as it airs in that region as well). The show is catching on FAST. Also, have you heard about Alex O'Loughlin becoming the spokeperson for the American Red Cross? You want to know why? Because the fan organized a nation-wide blood drive. It's all over the media. There is also a reason the show is winning every single poll, and that it won the people's choice awards with over 10 million votes.
Did you vote everyday like allowed? Probably. Plus that's it's only awards, the show is clearly not a success then.

I'm a Moonlight fan but also know it will neeed better ratings/demos to get a full season renewal if it gets the order for 13 which I still expect but using ratings/demos info .The Unit was bringing in much better ratings/demos than Moonlight but The Unit is even coming back to finish out season 3 and it looks iffy for any chance to see it back next year but Moonlight has been given a chance which I'm grateful for but agree unless its ratings/demos picks up I can only see a 13 episode renewal possibility but that is all right now ..

10 millions votes, and it can't even get 8 millions viewers. That is why no one cares about PCA.

Oh right, because all the awards shows determine if a show is canned or not. FYI, Emmys, People's Choice, etc etc meaning nothing. That doesn't change what a failure they are, or how much success they have. The people that vote for those award shows are the crazed fans that vote 50 times and need lives.

People's Choice awards are meaningless, but a few real awards and critical acclaim can save a show. Anyway, ML won't get any Emmy or Peabody. (For the record I find ML enjoyable if I am home, but not enough to notice or care it was coming back yesterday)

I agree and see that arguement used alot but polls and awards mean diddly squat if a show is not bringing in the ratings/demos consistently and yes I'm a ML fan saying this ..

People's Choice Award means nothing. The Class won the People Choice Award last year, and was canceled. That award is nothing more than which group of fans can organize on the internet the best.

They are just wasting the advantage they have with Moonlight. It is continually pulling down the schedule and forcing Numbers to pick it up again.
Friday at 9 is probably the toughest time slot of the week. It has been proven that even GW's repeat at 9 got a much smaller number than when it is repeated at 8. Moonlight is a great show, and it's refreshing to see CBS take a chance, for one, with a genre show. I'm pretty sure CBS will pick it up for another season at the same time. It is a huge success story.
Huge success? Close to Home had better numbers and was cancelled. I expect Moonlight to be too.
You're probably oblivious to the fact Moonlight has a huge fan following, that the cast now appears in various conventions and events all over the place, and between all the buzz and the marketability of the show overseas as well (and it is selling well all over the world), CBS will keep it on the sked. Hey, those suits can smell profits, and I can just see millions of fans worldwide buying Moonlight merchandise. This show ain't going anywhere.
Huge fan following? I never hear anyone talk about this show. Where is it selling well? I'd like to know where you heard this.
You not get online too often since Moonlight has been generating buzz since its premiere and the new series beside SCC of FOX getting the most attention from both fans, critics, and Nina who openly supports Moonlight and why I think it has a better than decent chance of getting a renewal of at least 13 episodes . Of course I could be wrong but since CBS screwed me out of The Unit I'd like to see Moonlight survive at least ..
I love how you totally downplay buzz when talking about the Unit, which had none, and now talk it up for Moonlight, a show that should never have been launched to begin with.

Yes, I assume people kind of got the hint this thread was linked on a ML fansite considering the "Friday Night Ratings" thread turned into a Moonlight duscussion. I just wanted to be honest about it, and I'm a casual fan of Moonlight. Do you think moving the show to 10PM would be a good move? I think CBS will renew, but not for an entire season....13 episodes like someone else mentioned. The network will see where it goes from there. Is it really that bad if ML loses some rating in between GW and Numbers as long as it still wins it's time slot and demo for 9PM, and CBS still wins the night with ML in it's lineup?

First, welcome newcomers. Please come back and talk about more shows than just Moonlight throughout the week. Now onto the real business: 1. This night is a joke overall but the biggest joke is ABC, which should just pull Duel for 2 hour 20/20. Perhaps encores of WMC can air at 8 in the coming weeks. 2. The CW will be in the cellar next year once Smackdown leaves. 3. CBS had a terrible night considering how the competition was downright pathetic. Moonlight doesn't deserve a renewal anymore. CBS can launch 3 new dramas easily and expand comedies by an hour and use Amazing Race in the fall. To fall in the higher HUT levels at 9 against downright pathetic competition is unacceptable. Try for a midseason 13 because that's all the more this show deserves, especially after the oodles of promotion I saw the whole week for it on CBS shows. 4. NBC's chimps are starting to get dumber than ABC's with their over dependence on the likes of Most Outrageous Moments. Why couldn't Las Vegas return for a final 6 eps this spring to take some pressure off the repeats? So dumb...
