They aren't. Last I checked, Nick doesn't make the money that ABC does.

Plus, since you are not a parent, they child has a lot of power as to what they want purchased in the Toy Department, Video Games, Breakfast Food, Fast Food, family vacations and so on. The Parents dont need to watch the shows for the impact to be felt.

We would still be seeing afternoon kids shows on broadcast. Those audiences are now on cable. Yes those cable companies make money, but they won't make as much as regular broadcast networks because kids rely on people aged 18-49 or older to get their money to purchase or receive the products advertised. Half the time parents probably aren't even watching the shows at the same time.

It may or may not be a bad idea. The cons are ABC aired it like three times a week before, which was way to much. Another is its in syndication already. However, with the bad ratings on ABC lately, this could help. Heck, I think I would watch Millionaire in Primetime again.

Not a bad idea at all, but it won't be the hit that it once was. It will score solidly for ABC and they need something that will bring in some audiences.
Millionaire still does a good job in syndication so it can succeed. Just don't schedule more than once a week like DOND.
If it succeeds, ABC needs to build that multi-cam comedy lineup after it.
ABC's Saturday morning of Disney repeats still brings in more money than Nick does on Saturday mornings. I know ABC made over a 2.4 billion. Nick according to one article, made 992 million. Advantage: ABC.

Goodness it's quiet around here today. May have to resort to doing some work.
If you needed a good reason to get a DVR, it's for award shows. While I would rather set myself on fire these days than sit through a three hour trophy ceremony, thanks to the DVR I watched the Globes in about 45 minutes. Very painless. While these awards are, of course, a joke, I am stil happy my favorites 30 Rock and Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up.
The 24 premiere was just ok. Which is not good news really since, story wise, it usually starts out spectacularly before waning a bit in the middle.
