Hey, thank you Robycop3. I'm having a blast on this chatroom. I hope more word of mouth spreads about it.

House does not need American Ido as a lead-in. It's proven it can work at 8:00pm as well, it's repeating better than other programming on Monday's. Based on what FOX is saying, they wish to prop up the comedies and Standoff with American Idol, IMO, that would mean moving House. The only logical place to move it to would be Thursday's. Survivor's next edition would have started yet and they can steal viewers and build the night. If they continue airing OC episodes, they should be completed by Feb Sweeps (earlier if they double up episodes during the holiday period) and thus introduce a new show on the Thursday's with a strong lead-in. I don't believe the move would hurt FOX or the show. And if it works, they will will the season again when May comes around.

I don't think so...the 8/7c slot on Thursdays is very competitive. House would probably decline to a mere audience of 13 million viewers (against Betty, Survivor and NBC's comedies). That is nothing in contrast to 23-24 million viewers out of AI...I really rather think that FOX will open up another full-hour post-Idol-slot on Wednesdays.

What do you think, Marc?

You know what -- I didn't. What stood out about it last night?

But last night's epsisode blew me away...from my point of view 3 Lbs. has very little in common with ER, Grey's or House (despite the hospital setting). Regarding the surprising quality of the show I actually think that The Unit is a pretty bad lead-in...so a special airing after CSI would certainly help the show immensley.

If you make the move before Survivor starts its next edition, a foothold is placed. ABC proved it can be done. They were dead in the time period until they placed a Summer Reality show there (DWTS) last season (January 2006). Why wouldn't it work for FOX?

WIth so many other problems, I think moving House to Thursday is too dangerous for Fox.

Well, I watch ER, Grey's and House and for a long time those shows did not have such an interesting and fascinating case like 3 Lbs. last night. I somehow could really feel for the patient...something I recently miss on those other medical dramas. Moreover the cast turns out to be terrific and the characters themselves seem to be very unique (and have definitely nothing in common with those on ER, Grey's or House).

To anybody who watched the pilot and the 2nd episode. Isn't it true that the second episode was at least twice as good as the pilot?

Yes starbase135, I thought it was much better this week than last. I think you nailed the reason for the improvement. Hospital shows require a great story (case) and a good performances by the actors playing patients (or others in related guest roles). ER, over the years, has had some amazing performances by guest actors playing patients and the like.

I thought in the pilot of 3lbs the story line was weak. Also, the performence of the actress who played mother of the sick child was particuarly bad. This week the whole story line (as well as the performance of the actress who played mother who had to choose between herself and her baby) was excellent. Great medical case as well.

I'm undecided about much of the cast, but Stanely Tucci is surprisingly good. It's not that I didn't think he was a good actor, but I kept expecting a Dr. House clone. To the contrary, Tucci does a good job of creating his own persona for Doug.

We'll see if the show lasts long enough to get even better.

Marc, I agree. It seemed like House was the only show that could retain a substantial amount of the AI lead-in from last season.(They tried Unanimous and some other comedies that didn't work). Given how Fox only has a handful of hit shows (and handful is pushing it), they probably should play it safe and keep House over 20 mil viewers come January.

BTW, 2.88 million for VM is bad no matter how you look at it.

The Wedding show by David E. Kelley and Drive look like they will be recieving large campaigns so I expect at least one to get post Idol. Drive already has promos airing.

So, have they found a new spot for the Blair Football Project yet?

Wonderful show, but I have to take dramamine just to watch. I hate self-described "auteurs" who shake the camera around just so they can pretend they have a distinct style.

I seriously doubt NBC is kicking themselves over not showing FNL. While NBC might be a little disappointed over the 18-49 numbers from Tony Bennett I don't think they expected them to be too high, I think he basically appeals to an older audience. It had almost a million more viewers then last week's FNL, which isn't bad.

I miss Everwood sooooo much...but i don't blame VM for its dead..I'm a great fan of VM too..I just don't undersatnd why some shows had the chance that Everwood didn't..I think it was a huge mistake..But now that Everwood is gone..we can't do anything so I hope that the CW starts to do things better..They should put new shows in the air right now!!

I think the CW blundered bringing back One Tree Hill instead of Everwood. But its too late now to rectify it.
