Regardless....even 3 million viewers is a disgusting accomplishment. No critically acclaimed drama on network television should be getting 3 million viewers when there's little competition in that hour. The only real competish Tuesdays at 9 is House.

I wish. It should've been dead about 4 times by now, but it continues to get more chances. Dude, it got seven more eps even now as the ratings, which started out sub-par, have been falling. They're determined to make this show a hit, but it is never going to happen.
Although, I'm thinking EW giving this episode a D this week probably didn't help with the ratings this week.
Thank you!!! People are blaming Runaway for Everwood's cancellation but Veronica Mars should never have gotten this opportunity to bomb so badly. And if you go to the cwtv.com board, VM fans are in complete denial that these ratings aren't legitimate and I'm SICK of their whining. They won't admit that they're show is not popular. It's so irritating to listen to. Everwood should've been given a slot on the CW, not the ridiculous Veronica Mars.
No one is blaming Runaway for Everwood's cancellation. Everyone blamed 7th Heaven. Its that shows fault even admitted by Dawn. Just because you like it doesn't make it false. Veronica got renewed over Everwood because it skewed younger, was cheaper, and was produced by WB therefore it had invested interest from both sides of the merger. I loved Everwood but its death isn't Veronica's fault.

Sorry folks, Veronica Mars is dead.
I think Standoff will get the post American Idol slot with House moving to Thursday's at 8:00pm. to kick start FOX's Thursday schedule.
FOX wont be so dumb. I bet they will schedule the AI results show @ 8.30/7.30 on Wednesdays and put Standoff @ 9/8c. They are definitely not going to destroy their AI/House Tuesday. Especially since House gained again about 3 million viewers this season and could attract an audience of 24-25 million viewers in the post-Idol-slot. But next season they will certainly consider a move...but not now.
I don't think it is wrong to support a show that we like. I think Veronica Mars has a very strong fan base and even if it is VM's fault or not that Everwood is gone, I dont think it matters anymore... Marc, do you/have you watched VM?? If so, do you think it deserves all the critical acclaim and fan support it gets? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Would you like some cheese with "this" whine?? Seriously I went over there and yes, there's a few fans here and there that are trying to look for some postives in light of the bad ratings. It's people's nature to do that. I see no whining and if it bothers you so much why are you there? It's a VM board. Now you people are complaining what some fans are saying on their own board.
I never watched "Everwood". But, I can say that it's wrong to blame any show for its demise, just like it would be wrong to blame any specific show on VM's demise, should it end after this season. There's more than just one thing that gets a show cancelled. I honestly doubt it's a matter of "Everwood or Veronica Mars?" or "We renewed 7th Heaven, so that means Everwood is gone".
While we give our overall thanx to GOD for all He's done for us, I give a special "thankya" to Marc for a job WELL DONE again this year, sacrificing lotsa time in which he could be doing other things besides watching TV, to give us the skinny on the current shows.
Hey Marc, did you watch 3 Lbs. last night. After watching the pilot I thought the show was a bad copy of House. But last night's epsisode blew me away...from my point of view 3 Lbs. has very little in common with ER, Grey's or House (despite the hospital setting). Regarding the surprising quality of the show I actually think that The Unit is a pretty bad lead-in...so a special airing after CSI would certainly help the show immensley.

House does not need American Ido as a lead-in. It's proven it can work at 8:00pm as well, it's repeating better than other programming on Monday's. Based on what FOX is saying, they wish to prop up the comedies and Standoff with American Idol, IMO, that would mean moving House. The only logical place to move it to would be Thursday's. If they make the move in January, Survivor's next edition would not have started yet and they can steal viewers and build the night in much the same manner ABC did last season when they aired Dancing With the Stars on Thursdays. If they continue airing OC episodes, they should be completed by Feb Sweeps (earlier if they double up episodes during the holiday period) and thus introduce a new show on the Thursday's with a strong lead-in.
I don't believe the move would hurt FOX or the show. And if it works, they will win the season again when May comes around.
