If its getting 6-8 million an episode, then that should bump up to 8-10 million by March, I would think.

I agree that HIMYM and Old Christine may be fighting for the same spot on the 2008-09 schedule. Both are about equaly when it comes to ratings. March & April will be put-up or shut-up for both shows.

If this cast had been in the normal summer slot, we'd probably be talking about how the show has rebounded ratingswise. The problem is again, CBS really doesn't have anything to work with until they get their shows back up to speed for new episodes, which will be at least 6-8 weeks, and you can only show so many CSI:Wherever reruns.

and speaking of the CBS renewals, do you think Old Christine and HIMYM are fighting for one renewal spot perhaps? BBT got picked up already.
If CBS was wise, both would return next year. They really could use another hour of comedies a week to help youth-enize their lineups a bit. The comedies do tend to skew a bit younger than the dramas (especially the Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday dramas and even the likes of Without a Trace and Criminal Minds.

If CBS really wanted to know how 'equal' the shows are, they would put HIMYM and Christine on at 9:30pm for several weeks each with new 2&1/2Men as a lead-in. They would also swap HIMYM and BBT in the 8pm hour for several weeks of new episodes. But, of course, CBS doesn't really want to know how equal the shows are to each other.

BTW, welcome back. Smiler

I second the motion to ad a 3rd hour of comedies to the CBS lineup. I am one of the advocates for a Sunday at 8pm Conmedy hour for CBS.

I think there should be another hour on Wednesday's, where I believe a comedy block used to be. If CBS were to have another comedy block, I would hope that the Wednesday line-up would be Rules of Engagement and another comedy. (Maybe HIMYM or a new comedy) (Not 2.5 Men, BBT, or Christine)

By the way, Welcome back TV-aholic

I second the welcome back. I was starting to miss ya. I'm also a believer Obveeus that CBS doesn't really want to know whats the stronger show. Summer repeat performances of HIMYM behind 2.5 Men in the past have never been real strong in retention.

Trying to get caughtup on the information from last week and think the following from FOX is a bad decision.

BACK TO YOU - Not expected to resume production this season; still has 3 episodes yet to air

BONES - May resume production; decision forthcoming; still has 4 episodes yet to air

Why they would not ive either of these two shows additional episodes for the season is a mystery. B2Y could use the added exposure to gain a fan base and BONES was clearly gaining momentum before the strike and additional episodes would be an added boost.

IF CBS used Wednesday as a 3rd hour blovk, then they need a power hitter to start the night. It would take a 2.5 Men to be successful in that hour. Previous attempts have not been too successful. Average at best. and CBS expects more than just AVERAGE perfromances.

FOX did not order additional episodes for any of its shows for this season. This includes House. They already had a schedule in place that they decided to keep even after the strike ended.

Well, according to thefutoncritic.com, HOUSE will produce 4-6 episodes for the rest of THIS season

Dexter: A lot of people who don't have Showtime (and face it, hardly anybody does) and were curious about all the hoopla tuned in.

A lot fewer will tune in next week.

Hall is an amazing actor, but the show itself is just not all that great.

Think of it as a primetime commercial for Showtime. Which needs it. Badly.
