This excuse about people not knowing episodes of shows are new is getting very old. I mean, if you are a fan of a show it does not take that much effort to find out if a new episode is showing. Every publication out there that shows TV listings display if a show is a repeat or new. It is easy to find out online if it is a repeat or it is new. It really does not take that much of an effort.
ABC is not going to roll the dice with their Sunday line-up period. With the problems the network has elsewhere, Sundays 7-10pm consistently win their timeslots (AFHV in adults), is well established (for 4 seasons now). And besides, you don't move an old show, and DH is entering that territory. Why mess with success?
I would again blame the Nielsen families for not finding these show's new episodes. Of course, we all know when new shows are on. We love TV! But, I am sure these folks with PeopleMeters range from loving TV to being indifferent. Unfortunately, the group Nielsen has reporting data does not like B&S like NCIS or Idol (not sure why). I would love to see the ratings increase for shows like B&S once DVR numbers are added.
Hello, everyone. I'm new here, I have ten posts - this is my tenth. I've lurked the forums for a long time now and I joined awhile back, but rarely do I post. Nonetheless, I felt I should post about my favorite cancelled show.
One year ago today, the series finale of "Reba" aired on The CW. The first part of the finale at 7:00PM got 3.40 million viewers, and at 7:30, 4.44 million viewers tuned in. Compare that to what The CW got on February 17 this year. Embarassing, huh?

Did YOU like this? Do YOU want to watch it?
On second thought, you're right. By putting it on the fall schedule, we can all look forward to "Bionic Woman 2." There's only one thing I like more than seeing ABC fail. Seeing NBC fail.

First, don't confuse "fan" with "viewer." Yes, fans will probably take the time to check online or in a schedule to see if the episode is new, but a regular viewer may not.
Second, a lot of people just assume that all the fall shows are in repeats now because of the strike. Since they think they already know that it's a repeat, they aren't going to double check.
The fact is, a lot of fall shows that have aired new episodes this spring have seen significant drops. Shows in their 3rd and 4th seasons don't generally drop 2 million viewers in a couple of episodes because people just lost interest unless something has changed (in the show or in the TV landscape).

No, I did not watch it. I did DVR it, but i am not sure if I will watch it.
But I will not force my opinion to be others.
And if NBC moves forward and makes this a series (which I have to think they will now), its success/failure will depend on how they execute it. The people have said they are interested, now it is up to NBC to keep them interested. Just like Bionic Woman. If NBC had executed the idea correctly, viewers would have continued to watch Bionic Woman. Same thing with Knight Rider.
My guess is the CC is cheaper than Shark. I mean James Woods has to keep those 20-something "hotties" he dates happy somehow. Plus, CC has already made syndication for CBS? correct?

B&S usually added 500,000-1 million viewers from the finals we get here to Live+7 day. Criminal Minds and NCIS got slightly more (averaging over 1 million). Generally, more CBS shows benefit (in total numbers) than any other network.
