Are the demos for this really any better than Reaper despite a half million more viewers? Not to cite a war because Supernatural is already returning but if Reaper can about pull those numbers against Idol shouldn't that count for something?

But SW hasn't really established itself enough to lead off at 8 or 9pm. ABC didn't trust it enough to even put it at 8 and instead believed that it needed a cushion between a new show and Greys. I kinda like the show and think it has all the elements of being a good comedy, except it makes me smile more than actually laugh. It's not very funny. Plus, if all these ABC pilots have famous stars, you really shouldn't need SW to lure viewers in initially.

Really? Roll Eyes Cause I remember Reaper doing about 2 million viewers against Idol. And a 0.8 demo. That's the numbers SPN does in repeats. If SPN has a lower week, the Reaper fans get all eager to compare that number to Reapers higher number of the season. It's hilarious really.

All the Reaper promotion in this forum is really annoying. I hope it's cancelled just so that I don't have to see delusional posts about the show anymore.

Veronica Mars fans look sane compared to Reaper fans! Wink

Honestly, Supernatural fans are quite delusional. Its pretty bad when a show drops from its 1.6 demo lead in to a 1.2 demo. Really at this point I think Supernatural can't grow while its possible Reaper can still grow.

ABC won't need it to lead the hour. They aren't using it in that sense right now.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Supernatural done nothing BUT grow from last season this year? Much like how Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill have grown from last season? How is Reaper doing in comparison to last year? Even without facing Idol this week, Reaper's numbers seemed too weak to reflect growth.

I don't think the CW needs to bring Reaper back. Their drama pilot development slate actually looks rather interesting.

HK's demo really was high last night, wasn't it? Even up against demo-grabbers The Office and Grey's Anatomy, it did fantastic.
This isn't really a difficult thing to figure out. Hell's Kitchen had American idol as a lead-in. What you saw was proof that lead-ins matter. If an 'ok' rated show gets a bigger lead-in, then it will do better in the ratings.

Supernatural is in no danger of being cancelled.

Reaper has plenty of growth potential, but CW isn't going to put it onto Thursday's 'easy ratings' slot. Reaper skews old for a CW show and it doesn't come out of CBS or Warner Bros. studios. There is very little chance that it returns next season. The only real shot it has to return is if the CW big wigs decide that they want to pair Vampire Diaries with something compatible and that they are willing to order up a full slate of programming next season. Otherwise, Vampire Diaries is likely to get paired with encores/reruns.

I agree. I actually think that Vampire drama could do well for the CW with the Twilight audience, which is the CW's aim - young women.

And Reaper fans calling SPN fans delusional are hilarious! With all the Reaper crazy talk and promotion and defending that goes in here! Supernatural has grown this season. Smallville and Reaper both declined. I don't care though, Supernatural is going to have its five seasons, so just like Lost fans, I don't need to worry about the ratings. Now the same can't be said for Reaper fans, can it? Wink

how can you expect growth for sophomore show that has been out of sight for 9 months, and brought back with little fanfare against the #1 show in the country, i say Reaper did as well as expected, and deserves kudos

Hey, if you are all getting a little antsy about television stuff, the group over at GeekSix has a top 5 web series to check out.

http://www.geeksix.com/?p=1635

I could honestly see The CW stick Vampire Diaries after Smallville next season. The amount of buzz that show already has is kind of insane. And it all draws from the vampire sensation that is out there. Do I think they should, probably not, but I can see it happening. As for Supernatural and Reaper, both fandoms need to settle down. Maybe they can end up together on Sunday. Those two fandoms should be supporting each other, not tearing each other down.

NBC should just bite the bullet and remake Friends now. And I am happy to hear about some multi-cam sitcoms coming back in. Hopefully some success will drive off the single cams. When did the single cam sitcom take off anyways?

I am also glad to see Fox sticking new programming in the summer, they have had some of their biggest hits after doing that. I think the CW should really try to get some addicting summer programming going as they could take advantage of encores on most other channels.

The NCAA tournament is going 1 for 4 in terms of close games tonight. This can't be good for ratings.

Is this feud being carried over from another forum or something? I read pretty much everyday and other than a few posts on the day after each show airs, I don't really remember anyone talking about either show all that much. Endless BBT/HIMYM flame wars, yes. Pisher antagonizing Pushing Daisies/Fillion fans until they implode, yes. Reaper/Supernatural fanboys spooging all over the forums, not so much.
