You are? Everybody here hates any sitcom that isn't filmed with three cameras and a canned laugh track or prompted audience laughter. Which is weird, because I remember just as many, if not more, multicam comedies being unfunny bombs than single cam ones.
It amazes me that networks don't develop multi camera shows -- especially nbc which has had huge success with them. I fully expect surviving disturbia to hit big time and then hopefully everyone will wake up from this single camera spell that they have been under. Not that I mind a single cam show but for nbc not to develop any at all is crazy. Thank god for CBS with their multi cam shows and the great adventures of old christine and gary unmarried. Does it not say something that the top comedies are multi cam shows on cbs?

Its been a tough decade but now the multi-cams are finally back.
What a piece of shit and waste of time In the Motherhood was. I actually thought it was going to be decent but it was really bad. The only thing that I would give it right now is that its the best of the current ABC comedies right now but that's not saying much folks. It was so bad that I turned to Idol for Smokey Robinson then as soon as Idol went to commercial break I turned to NBC only to notice how terrible their comedies are too then I finally turned to basketball and Friends on TBS and felt happy of getting my time back.
I really do miss NBC's Must See TV Thursday lineup and tonight it really hit more than it has in recent years. Watching Friends kind of took me back for a second.
Until Surviving Suburbia airs most of us who like watching true network sitcoms will be saved after 5 years of single-cam garbage. ABC is better off getting Roommates from ABC Family and replacing it.
If I want to see a single-cam comedy then I'll go watch My Boys on cable which is done the way a single-cam is supposed to be. Not an unfunny half-hour dramaedy.
Hopefully for our sakes SS will do well. It might have to do as well as SW did last year when it came out. Its good to see Steve learning his lesson and finally coming out with more of these traditional comedies in development as I think they'll be a successful as CBS has been with them lately.
The networks have ignored the traditional sitcom lovers for years and went single-cam happy after the success of Malcolm in the Middle on FOX and it hasn't worked for them at all. The best and only watchable single-cams are on cable like My Boys, Sunny in Philly, Weeds, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. They just don't work on networks b/c their too limited.

Do you have a link? I havent heard about this yet.
MOT has been stated as coming back. It'll probably debut later in the summer. I don't know about SM.
As for Mental, Fridays at 9 PM worked for Flashpoint so maybe they thought it would work for Mental. Since I haven't seen the pilot, I don't know the final result. FOX had said that they were planning on putting more scripted series in the summer so this placement doesn't surprise me, especially if it's supposed to be a limited 13 episode series.

The smart thing to do would have been to air it with House repeats during the summer. Airing it with Lyrics Fridays at 9pm really won't get it anywhere. Seems like a burnoff show to me.
What about shows like Moment of Truth and Secret Millionaire? I thought those were coming back in the summer.

They are doing too many comedy pilots with high profile actors not to establish one and Wednesdays is the logical place for it. As for SW, unless it takes into the mid 1 demos, I think it will be back. ABC needs an established comedy to help out the newly established block.

If both ITM and SW? stay stable, they will be renewed. ABC has had so many comedy failures, I'm sure they will take a 2.1 demo.

You'd just think that pairing it up with House, another medical drama, would be a given.
Plus that way, 5th Grader and Lyrics could air together again on Fridays, because they really do work best when aired together.

I agree. I think next week, both should be able to grow a bit. The ratings aren't terrible, after all, and ABC is trying to get all the comedies they can handle. While I would rather multi-cam sitcoms, these are a start.

Marc will be happy to hear that Scrubs is doing well enough to earn renewal.
I don't think it will be all that difficult. It does have some fans of its own and they will likely be watching. If ITM really drops, I expect a one hour SW each Thursday.

Christina Applegate said in interviews this week that ABC decided to only air 6 of the remaining 11. The rest would depend on ratings.

I didn't say that it was coming back. I just pointed out that, by the ratings definition given, it was doing well enough to earn renewal.
